Hi,

I'm wondering ... how exactly have you deleted this flash player - what have
you done ?
if you get message that "another installation is running" so i understand
that you're trying to install that flash player ...
is it this:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
?

and the last one question: have you tried to reboot machine before starting
installation ?

In "My Computer", right click "Local Disk (C:).
Click "Properties".
Click the "Disk Cleanup" button. Wait while it "Calculates".
Put checks in the boxes for "Downloaded Programs", "Temporary Internet
Files", and "Temporary Files".
Uncheck any other boxes.
Click "OK".
Won't hurt to Reboot.
Next visit to a page that needs Flash Player should prompt to install it. {OK}

Katrina, I posted the following in another newsgroup some time ago and I believe
it might be applicable to your problem. It can't hurt to try. The MAIN thing
is, Adobe Flash Player MUST be un-installed with their own program before
installing the player again. Just follow the links below:
****************************************

David, I've run into this before with IE6, and just recently with IE7. You are
told to install Adobe Flash, and are (usually) re-directed to the site. You go
through the motions and are told that it has installed successfully. It still
won't work. Here's the way to do it:

Go to this site and run the UN-INSTALL program.
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157

If I'm not mistaken, if you run it on-site without downloading the program, it
will then take you to install Adobe Flash once again.

Another site to bookmark along with the above is:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_15507

If you happen to go to this "Version Test" site first, it will probably tell you
that you have Adobe Flash installed. But YOU know it doesn't work! So, do the
UN-install first.

It worked for me!

thanks for replying the insallation that is ( i think) is blueyonder i got

Hi,

the worst thing is to get/use comp from someone -)

If any of Blueyonder app isnt in Add/Remove Programs (an PCGuard or
something) we can try to do something else.

Menu Start -> Run -> write: msconfig (and press Enter). The dialog will show
up and go to Stratup tab.
There will be all programs which starts when machine starts. If you can find
application which is trying to install then uncheck it (you can check the
names and paths for apps). If you can't just try to uncheck all
applications.

After that reboot and check if annoying message will come.

We have Windows XP with Adobe Flash Player Active X version 9.0, and use
IE7 for the browser on our machine. My wife, son, and I each have our
own user accounts as administrators on the machine. Our son downloaded
the Adobe Flash Player version 9 recently, and is now the only one who
can access sites with flash such as Roadrunner (www.rr.com). My wife and
I cannot access these sites or certain flash controls (needed to order
things online, etc.), and must login as him to be able to do things that
we used to be able to do before the new flash player was installed. I
have tried uninstalling the Adobe Flash Player, and reinstalling it (via
my son's login - I was unable to get it to install under my login). Has
anyone ever heard of anything like this happening? I'm stuck and
frustrated.

Hi pcmikep

There are a few different reasons why you might be having trouble. This
Adobe troubleshooting article explains and suggests some things to try:

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on :-)

Though the link did not solve my issue, it was nonetheless informative.

My issues is that version 9 works in Firefox, IE6, but not on all sites
visited with IE7, specifically, eBay. I used to be able to view all Flash on
eBay now I can't and supposing that it is with the new version. Not sure when
that was installed initially though. The Flash box says to "Get Flash 6".
Hmmm - kind of old. Click on the box and you are taken to Adobe Flash 9 for
download. Been there, done that, including uninstall, reinstall, reboot, and
..... Still no joy! Any additional help would be appreciated. Here is an
auction# that has a problem 140239129408

Thanks!
