I have XP Home. Somehow, many of my programs will not run unless I
right-click and do a "run as". I am trying to set up the soft ware
(FinePix) but apparently it is under Adminstrator and I cannot get it to load
or setup. What a mess. Also trying to get proper set up for CA Virus
protection software, but it is a no go, apparetly due to this Adminstrator
issue. Can someone help get me back to basics????

Thanks.

Hi:

For what I understand is that you are log in your computer as a no
administrative user. If you go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>User Account,
is your user name Administrator?

Hello Juan,
Thanks for responding and offering to help. When I go to Start, there is no
choice called Settings. When I go to Control Panel, and try to open User
Accounts, it will not open; right click, left click on it and nothing works.
Any more suggestions? I do appreciate the help!
Gracias (sp),
Tom

Hi Tom:

I am bafflled. Even if you are using a limited user account, you should have
access to the User Account option from the control panel. Looks like a
operating system problem, beyond my knowleadge. I would suggest to open a
new query.

Did you have this problem since the beggining?

Try to go to Start>rum, type "mmc". Then you get a console, go to
File>add/remove snap in...>in the tab standalone, go to Add. then select
Local Users and group. Press OK, OK, and go to Users. You will see the users
you have avail. Go to Administrator and with the left mouse, select set
password. There you can change the password.

I tried this in a windows XP pro.I do not have a Windows XP home with me.
Let me know if that works.

Juan,
Once again, thanks for your help. I did a Start>run and typed mmc
then hit enter. I tried it also hitting OK, I did not get a console as you
suggested. So I have hit the wall again. :(

Feliz Navidad!!
