Adding to All Proigrams

SD

I have an older program that prints labels that I use for occasions such as
Christmas cards.
The listing of the programs appears in C:\. How can I get it to appear in
Start, All Programs.
Thank You.
Using WINXP SP2.
 
Right-click the Start button and then Open or Open All Users.
Create a shortcut to your program where you want it.

I don't know why you created it on the desktop instead of in the Start
Menu but drag it from your desktop to C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs in whatever sub-folder you want.

Or click and drag it to the Start button, hover there and the Start Menu
will open. Hover over All Programs and that will open, etc..

Strange behavior occurs.
When I drag shortcut from desktop to start and all programs it appears in
start but not in all programs and copy of shortcut still appears on the
desktop, if I delete the shortcut on the desktop it will also be deleted in
the start menu. ? Even after rebooting the program shortcut still doesn't
appear in all programs. What am I missing?. Thanks again.

Try it this way. Go to start/run, and type:<including the quotes>
"%userprofile%/start menu/programs"
Rightclick the folder you prefer, then New, and Shortcut. (You can also drop
a shortcut into these folders. )

Hate to be a pest.
Strange occurrence now.
After booting or re-booting and after desktop appears the programs in
question it's folder appears with out input from me. Shortcut or the data
folder will not open the program but I can run the program from the shortcut
in all programs or the shortcut in start. Couldn't even run the program from
the C:\Program. Re installed the program, now boots fine from either
location but it's folder still appears after computer reboots or cold boots.
Any comments appreciated. Thanks.

There was a failed attempt by the program of creating a run command to
start it upon Windows startup. You can run MSCONFIG and under the
Startup tab, look for any reference to the program. You'll probably
find that the command line doesn't place the command line in quotes, or
it's just a damaged command line. Disable that line in MSCONFIG and
restart to see if that cures the problem. If so, start MSCONFIG again,
see where the program is started and remove the command correctly using
REGEDIT, or another area of MSCONFIG, if it isn't in the registry.

Thanks for your effort, time regarding this post.
I didn't think I would get any more replies to this post believing time had
exhausted it.
Had the same belief of my other post that it would be ignored due to lack of
interest.
To that effect I did a system restore to an earlier time and it solved my
problem regarding the malfunction of the program.
Will leave the location of the program in C:\ and not try to put it in Start
menu or all programs.
