I have a new gateway notebook and the automatice update feature is not
active. When I to to the page to activate it the page has no function to do
so. How do I address this issue.

Hello,

- click start
- click control panel

If you are using category view (the default):
- click the security heading
- click Windows Update

If you are using classic view
- double-click windows update

- In the left margin, click Change settings
- Select how you would like to receive updates

If this screen does not let you change the settings, please reply back with
what the screen says and any errors that you get.

Defender is Vista. I guess it doesn't even trust itself.
