Hi all-I'm running Xp Pro with two user accounts, only one of which is
accesible. When I log into the other acc.,it loads up ok,with desktop display
icons and taskbar etc,but then it freezes, with only the hourglass cursor
showing. When this occurs,I can only shut down at the mains power point.I
would appreciate any help with this problem.
Thanks.

If the other user account works, that specific account may be corrupt. You
should migrate the data (and settings) from it to a new profile and delete
it. If you can get into it in Safe Mode, that may help moving the
settings.

This would also be a good time to review your data backup strategy.

Hi : I had the same problem for three weeks..and yesterday, after reading
what everyone else was saying about IE7 , I removed IE7 from the pc, by going
into control panel and in "add or remove", removed IE7..IE 6 takes over
automatically..I then restarted the pc and "voila", but user accounts are
working perfect..no more freezing on the one user account..you can't hurt
anything..so if you have IE7, get rid of it..
