Access Queries on Clipboard Freeze other programs

This is probably not the correct place to post this question but here
goes:

I have an Access Query that when run gathers approx. 50,000 records.
I need 12 copies of the same query, so I copy, paste and rename them.
No problems.

However, if I have a copy of the query on the clipboard and try to
open Excel or even to reply to an e-mail in Outlook, Access typically
stops responding and freezes whatever other program I'm trying to work
with until I force quit Access.

Needless to say this is very frustrating. I'm running Office 2000 and
Windows XP SP2.

If anyone can point me toward a solution (other than trying to
remember to clear the clipboard before I leave Access) I would
appreciate it.

Thank you
Charles Hamlyn

The normal behavior for an Office app with a lot of clipboard data on exit,
is to ask you if you want to keep it. A dialog pops up. Since it is having
an error there, I would guess you have some file corruption in Comdlg32.dll,
or some other file in Access. My first try at a fix would be to use the
Access Help menu, and "Detect and Repair". If no help, I would run a Repair
setup of XP.
