I hadn't used this PC for nearly a year because of issues with the fan. When I resolved the issues, I found problems that were not present before:
1. Nothing will download or install, and old downloads won't open;
2. Attempting to open old desktop folders causes all the icons to disappear;
3. Nothing on the bottom toolbar/start menu works except internet- when I try to open an OO document, search feature, etc., a blank box appears and then vanishes.
Would anyone know what is causing this?
Also- I made the mistake of deleting some desktop folders a year or more ago; would the contents still be on the hard drive, & if so can I retrieve them?
Input on either topic would be greatly appreciated!!
