Google will release a fairly substantial update for its Chrome web browser on OS X, finally upgrading the popular software from 32-bit to 64-bit architecture, something Macs have been supporting for some time now. The search giant has published a beta of the 64-bit version of Chrome, following the stable update on Windows with the same new feature.

There are numerous advantages of 64-bit over 32-bit architecture when it comes to software and while consumers may not notice a visual improvement (once the 64-bit edition makes it to the live stable release channel, that is), it'll definitely work some technical magic in the under the hood. As well as the underlying changes to Chrome for Mac, Google has also added handy profile switching to make it more convenient to manage multiple accounts on a single installation.

Who's excited to see Google nearing final release for 64-bit support?
