Hello...I've just had my computer for a few days and I've noticed that the
CPU usage meter is at 60% all the time now (even when it's sitting
idle)..where it was usually less than 10%. The realiabilty and performance
monitor shows that something called "LOCAL MANAGEABILITY SERVICE" "LMS.exe"
is continually using 50% of the CPU.
What is this manageability service and why is it consuming 50% of my CPU
power?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have an Intel dual core processor 2.4GHZ, 4GB of ram
Thanks

Hello John,

Open IE--->Tools--->Manage Add-ons, and uncheck any BHO's that you don't
recºgnize.

Good luck

Thanks Mick.....You were absolutely right.....I just got on the computer this
morning and it still showed that 60% was being used...then all of a sudden it
went down to 1%...and the performance monitor shoiws that the LMS is not
using any CPU power anymore...

Once again...Thanks very much for your help...I'm not very computer savy and
your comments certainly assured me that nothing was wrong with my new
computer...
Cheers
John

Hey John,

http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/lms/

Seems like Intel owns this file.

Can you try downloading the latest Intel software and see if this fixes the
problem? Make sure that the software is Vista supported.
