  1. N3 I cannot get that url to work at all. Redirecting is not normal though unless the site you are trying to get to has changed its location ands you aren't aware of that.
  2. The download speed is the worst I have ever heard for cable N3, have you checked what speeds they claim to be offering with them and I agree with Bob the upload is really bad also? Are there maybe tiers of speed that you pay different prices for?
  3. Yes I know that about Verizon but actually he hadn't been to Verizon yet until this morning as he had been using Outlook Express and was waiting to ask me how to access it which of course I didn't realize and I explained to him this morning OE is dead and told him how to go to Verizon to access Web Mail.
  4. I sold a guy a refurbished PC last night. I had just run a Mbam scan and updated Windows updates before he picked it up and there was no bloatware on it at all. He calls me this AM with all kinds of popups out of control. He went to eBay and the Pottsville Republican Newspaper website and Wot went off there but I had forgotten to explain that to him. I had him change his home page from the newspaper and we uninstalled Optimizer Pro, Driver something or other tzvardzik search engine (something like that) and one more of those Malware enabler programs from Programs and Features. A complete scan with Malwarebytes removed 660 Pups. An hour later he called back still getting popups so we installed Emsisoft Antimalware 9.0 and removed a Trojan and 4 more exploits and 112 more pups and it is finally clear. All the guy did was go to read his newspaper and look for a car part on ebay, and spent a total of 19 minutes on the computer before all this happened. So what is on the box really has so little to do with it and I should add he is on Verizon DSL and no other devices use the internet in his home so no infection traveled across a network from another computer in the home.
  5. Folks generally aren't very creative in choosing names for their dogs. That's why there are so many named Rover and Spot. But, have you heard the plight of the fellow who thought he'd be cute and named his dog Sex? It goes like this: "One day Sex and I took a walk and he ran away from me. I spent hours looking for that dog. A policeman came by and asked what I was doing in this alley at midnight? I told him I was looking for Sex. My case comes up next Tuesday." "But, that ain't the worst part. One day, I went to the town hall to get a dog license for Sex. The clerk asked me what I wanted. I told him I wanted a license for Sex. He said, "I'd like to have one, too." Then, I said, "You don't understand. She's a dog." He said he didn't care how she looked. When I told him I'd had Sex since I was 5, he said, "You must have been an early bloomer." "When I decided to get married, I told the Minister I wanted to have Sex at the wedding. He told me I'd have to wait until after the wedding. When I protested that Sex had played a big part in my life and that my whole life revolved around Sex, he said he didn't want to hear about my personal life." "After my wife and I were married, I took the dog with us on the honeymoon. When I checked into the hotel, I told the clerk I wanted a room for my wife and wanted one for Sex. She said. "Every room in the hotel was for sex." I said, "You don't understand. Sex keeps me awake at night." The clerk said, "Me, too." "When my wife and I separated, we went to court to fight for custody of the dog. When I told the Judge I had Sex before I was married, he grinned and said, " Me. too." "Now that I've been thrown in jail, married, divorced and had more trouble with that dog than I ever imagined, I'm in counselling. My psychiatrist asked me what my problem was. I said "Sex has died and left my life. It's like losing a best friend and I'm so lonely," I told him. He said, "Look, you and I both know that sex isn't man's best friend. You should get a dog.
  6. I agree it could be a real issue

  8. Great rule Dougie!
  9. Welcome Rachel.
  10. ECC registered memory is very expensive unlike non ecc and unregistered however not that expensive. And I did run my IBM server with regular non ecc 8 Gb Ddr2 667 ram for years without issue. It still runs I just wanted something faster. I really should look into hosting as I have a HP Proliant server I can't sell with dual Xeon Core 2 duo cpus and 32 Gb ram and the old Lenovo with a Core 2 Duo and 8 Gb Ddr2 ram and both have 15,000 Rpm SAS drives as well, and I have spare SAS drives too...all in the graveyard (my closet). I guess I would need bigger drives to do that as one is 256 Gb and the other 512 Gb SAS drives. What could I service on that little space. I don't even know how big web servers usually are though. I paid $185 for my 16 gb 1600 Ddr3 ECC Registered server ram at Crucial, I am a reseller there but we don't get much of a price break frankly.
