  1. Below please see a way I copied from Brink then modified to suit my own needs which negates the use for .wim however, I would like to have my own .wim stick. My problem is that I don't know if I am working within the flash drive or on desktop. I don't know if after the .wim is made if I need to make it bootable. if I knew the outline I could then follow these tutorials I have watched for weeks. >>This does work: One can use DISM for .ESD (windows is compressed) repair below without converting to .WIM: Run as admin & fix # of OS and letter of installation flash drive: ! Be sure to use the right Drive letter so likely replace the E. 1-insert OS flashdrive,2- copy 1st string to Word doc if letter not same as your flash; otherwise just run to see number, 3-change the letter of OS flash if necessary, in Word then 4-copy corrected string and paste into cmd as admin. 5-when know letter and number = run second string Get OS # with 1st string = dism /get-wiminfo /wimfile:E:\sources\install.esd 2nd string Get DISM fix for .ESD from flash drive = Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:esd:E:\Sources\Install.esd:6 /limitaccess So as you can see I can achieve what the .wim file can do with .esd . If you can give me a few steps it would help me with the tutorial.
  2. Hello I am an average user so find the links to doing the subject difficult. I have watched videos also but they are not easy. I do have a flash drive I downloaded from the MCT and used to install Windows 10 Pro. I can only see the files within the MCT when I use the flash drive I made with .esd. Maybe you could help me do this in steps. is the first thing I do, install a blank flash drive and save the MCT to it? Thank you
  3. All of the videos refer to this as converting. Why the nit picking?
  4. I have an internal HDD and I want to put it inside an enclosure so I will have an external HDD where I can back up information.. This will give me a portable hard drive .
  5. As the title implies, "Converting an internal hard drive to an external hard drive!"
  6. After the job is nearly done, do you format or create a new simple volume.
  7. I was wondering if everyone who contributed had both iPhone XR with Windows 10? I also wanted to add that Bluetooth works flawlessly in the car with Apple Car Play as it should. I conclude from Apple report and personal experience that the phone and PC are OK but Apple has a different way of doing things. It is tight but less prone to insecurity. I guess you cannot have it both ways. Anyway thanks for the help.
  8. I can send a photo to a google smart phone with Bluetooth and Windows 10. I cannot do that with an iPhone. Apple says it does not support that. However, a mod of a forum insists he has the same equipment and can do so with the iPhone. I do not usually need BT to do so as I have other means such as Onedrive etc, but, to resolve this, I wanted to know if someone here has both the iPhone x and Windows 10 and can send a file from the PC to the iPhone with BT? Please, the point is not means of transfer but to conclude whether it can be done or not. Today at 12:07 AM#2 J. No, there’s no way to get an image from a PC to an iPhone via Bluetooth only. I thought you would find this of interest. I don't mean to be rude but I think you either have tricked your phone or have an android one.
  9. Do you have Windows 10? Do you have iPhone X? Mine is XR. I hate yo reset the phone but I would like to see it work. Like I said it was perfect with Google but cannot find my PC half the time and says operation not possible. The PC has to be OK as it worked with the old Galaxy. Either the XR cannot do it or I have a wrong setting. My wife's cannot do it either and her phone is the same as mine. I use OneDrive when I transfer so it is not necessary but I would like to get to the bottom. If you were to reset anything, what setting would you start with then what next. In other words how would you go about troubleshooting? I am disabled so this is wearing but I am also persistent. Would you agree the iPhone has to be he problem?
  10. I thought you'd like to know that what Apple told me seems to be right. I tried my Galaxy and immediately transferred my photo, unlike the iPhone. FTP is not supported by Apple.
  11. I used my wife's identical phone and it immediately was found the desktop but when I clicked on it, it said pairing unsuccessful as it is not supported.
  12. Do you have face id and password >attention features enabled or not? I ask because when ours is enabled we cannot hear the ringer so it is off.. I am groping. Sorry to be doubtful of your ability but all the Apple folks said no to this. They are apparently wrong. If I did a reset to fix the settings which should it be and what would happen?
  13. A reset would likely allow it to work but what a lot of settings to restore.
  14. At last a name came up on the phone instead of buffering .I do not recognize the name and says pairing unsuccessful. My PC does not appear as the phone just buffers.
  15. You are making progress - when I do as you say all goes well but the connection is not established Somehow the pairing or connection is not established. Bluetooth cannot find the PC on the phone but the PC can find the phone and it says paired with Peters phone. On the phone it just buffers looking for the PC. I either have a setting wrong on the PC or the phone. I wonder why all the Apple people say this cannot be done. Maybe it is the iPhone X R? I noticed on the phone under privacy>Bluetooth sharing, there is nothing.
