    I wouldn't bother, Definately a FP. Not every program gets it right every time. I have had "Everything" for years. Nod 32 doesn't pick it up nor or any other security program I scan with. What Nod doesn't pick up isn't worth the time of day. I am not the least bit concerned if it doesn't affect my Computer in any way. I don't go looking for things to fix.     Adwcleaner is not flagging my Void Tools" Everything" I would uninstall "Everything" and redownload from Major Geeks.

    I am not struck on Windows 8.1 and if I used it I guess I wouldn't be having issues I am experiencing. I am a Windows 10 Tester and waiting for that OS as I think it will be a good OS when finally released to the public. I think the Chrome Browser also has it's own inbuilt Player as well. Won't use Chrome. Thanks Bob for your sound advice. @donetao. They are all good programs you mention. I use them myself.

    I use Windows7 SP1 as default OS, Bob. I have Windows8.1 as well but seldom use it. I have Flash Player installed at the moment. A lot of times Flash Player stops working and have to reinstall. Wish there was a stable alternative.

    Of course we have to be vigilant I agree, but not to excess was what I was implying.:)

    I watch a lot of video tutorials and a lot remain black unless Flash Player is installed.

    0&0 Defraggler is a good program, Rich. I run mostly SSD's now and no longer needed it. The uninstall was the headache.Took me ages to get rid of all traces.

    Only two programs have given me problems removing every trace,and I have road tested many. One is Spyhunter 4 and the other was 0&0 defrag. 0&0 was worse than Spyhunter.

    Very profitable for the Crypto gang. I read in the first 100 days they made $30 mil.

    I am not paranoid about a big bad wolf at the door like some. My security takes care of that and warns me before an infection has a chance. And if by chance one slips by I nail them before they even wipe their feet on the welcome mat.

    I am most certainly not at this point. I disagree. Only if you continue, you run the risk of infection and a good AV will catch it anyway. Get out of the site and find an alternative.

    Good advice, Rich. I have done a lot of reading on "Crypto Locker" Each computer has a cloned back up on an external drive not hooked up to my network. Better safe than sorry.

    When viewing a website video and I am asked to update Flash Player,I go find the video some place else. Most Videos are posted on multiple sites.:)

    My best defense against "Crypto Locker" is I have my OS cloned onto another HDD with Macrium and keep it updated. I have to agree re "Hitman Pro" just didn't do it for me. The layered security I have now is really working great. Use whatever works for you.:)

    I installed "Hitman Pro" a few days ago and wasn't impressed. I uninstalled it. Another program I tried was "SpyHunter4" What rubbish and had difficulty getting it off my system completely. I road test a lot of programs.:)

    One question as I can't make out the icons clearly. Does Slim Driver backup your old drivers before installing new drivers? Thanks.

    I have never had a problem with the free version of MBAM. Works a treat for me. I had the pro version at one time and dumped it.

    I agree many freebies don't come with infections. Some do. Scan all downloads before installing any program free or paid. Choose custom install at every opportunity and weed out unwanted extras prior to install. Don't download from sites that are known to infect your computer. Have good AV that catch what you miss. It's the IBK's that keep computer shops and Techies so busy. Some never learn.:)

    I think with all these differences of opinion @Katrina will be unsure what is the best protection to use against infections. She is asking questions and getting conflicting opinions.:)
