SBS vs server 2008 - Which do we need. newbie
Considering you won't need Exchange in next couple of years due to predicted no-chance of more-employees, I would rule out need of SBS, In my opinon Windows Server 2008 standard would be perfect for you. Besides I think Google Apps (Calander, PoP Mail Stuff) you are using is good to carry on with.

Too Many UDP serving Ports 2008 server in SBS2011
Server 2008 R2, DNS.exe taking around 5000 system socket ports, it that normal? UDP ports listening from 59632 to 64662 around 5000 ports ???? UDP [::]:64574 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64575 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64576 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64577 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64578 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64579 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64580 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64581 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64582 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64583 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64584 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64585 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64586 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64587 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64588 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64589 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64590 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64591 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64592 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64593 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64594 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64595 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64596 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64597 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64598 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64599 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64600 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64601 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64602 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64603 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64604 *:* 1700 UDP [::]:64624 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64625 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64626 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64627 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64628 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64629 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64630 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64631 *:* 1700 [dns.exe] UDP [::]:64632 *:* 1700 Is it ok or it is not normal procedure, I understand that DNS has to choose a random port which is working fine using "netstat -anb | find/C "dns.exe"" , showing only one socket port. But is that ok to reserve 5000 ports ? Thanks
