  1. Hello, I have inherited a Server 2008R2 SP1 Set up for a small company owned by a family friend. (I am not Server 2008 terminal Services Savvy). They want to look at terminal services and have just changed over from SBS 2011. The server is and AD DC with Remote Desktop Services Installed (plus all the prerequisites IIS etc..) The new server roles were installed pretty much with all the default settings and they have Remote Desktop within the LAN. They previously had the SBS 2011 connection wizards set up remote access through their ISP (remote.securist.co.uk) and have an A record pointing to their (dynamic) IP address of the router. The router has port forwarding set on 80 / 443 / and some others for MS Exchange etc.... **The new server roles were installed pretty much with all the default settings and they have Remote Desktop working well within the LAN. So my questions are: - Does server 2008 require the remote.securist.co.uk pointer for external access, if so does it need to be configured in the server DNS?. - How does the discovery process work from an external Remote Desktop Connection back to the server (this is the area causing problems). - Aside from the Remote App features what role does the IIS services play in Remote Desktop connections and is it all required? - I have looked at many tutorials and guides on setting up Remote Desktop Services and they all seem to naturally assume you can connect to your server from anywhere, am I missing the trick here? Thanks in advanced to any member who can help me out. Kindest regards Joe
