  1. Your primary partition needs to be set active. There is a fix in SP2 that causes the problem. Best thing to do is get a copy of Partition Magic boot disks. Boot with them and then set your primary partition to active. You can also use fdisk to set it to active.

  24. It's a fairly common problem. The file is for MSN Messenger. Usually this happens when you unistall MSN. It doesn't remove all the registry entries. You then get the error you got. It can also become missing if you install and then uninstall any addons for MSN Messenger. They will modify the file and on uninstall will remove it.
  25. Lets try this then. Go to the same folder and look for sysoc.inf. Open with Notepad and look for this line: msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 If it there remove hide, leaving msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,7 Close and save. Try add/remove again. If that don't work or the line isn't there grab the file I attached. Rename it to msmsgs.inf, put it C:\WINDOWS\inf and then try add/remove. msmsgs.inf.txt
