  1. While in XP use computer management > disk management to format the drive 2000 is on.
  2. Are you trying to delete the files on the 2000 partition while booted in XP or the other way around?
  3. Try logging in with the administrator account. By default it has no password.
  4. Hello to you and welcome to the community.
  5. Hello to you and welcome to the community.
  6. I have changed the look of the site. Many thanks to VistaBoard for making this style available. Hope all of you like it.
  7. Could be that Microsofts server is having the problem and not your computer.
  8. Yes this a problem with Vista 32. It is not a problem with Vista 64 which the op has installed. There is no setting that has to be changed. I run Vista Ultimate 64 with 4 gigs and it all shows fine. It could be your motherboard doesn't support 4 gigs. However I doubt that is the case since it shows more than 2 gigs. I haven't seen a motherboard yet whith a 3gig limit. Usually it's in multiples of 2.
  9. I would say it a problem with the port on the monitor.
  10. Threads don't get frozen. The problem is my spam filters. If you quote a post with a url in the quote and if you haven't made at least 3 other posts the reply will go into moderation.
  11. The motherbaord will light up when the power switch on the back is on. This is for wake on lan. Boot with a known working stick of ram and graphics card. Troubleshooting hardware problems is fairly easy. Take all addons out except for what I said above. If it gets to the bios put in another component and try again. I doubt you have a ps problem. More than likely it's a bad stick of ram or video card problems. Do you get any error beeps?
  12. Did you change the jumper on the back of the drive before you installed it? If you have 2 hard drives, the original and the new one, then you need to set the jumper on the new one to master and the old one to slave. If you only have one drive then make sure it is set to master.
  13. This might be some help. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301 Use the tool on that page. It should clean up the problem. Another thing you could do is remove the program in the startup folder. If it isn't in there use msconfig and look for any reference to eliteupd.ini or the instasharedevices. After you disable it I would scan for spyware.
  14. That is a standard warning when you try to load install drivers that are not certified through Microsoft WHQL program.
  15. Error 1706 is a bad resource error. Does the error reference any programs?
  16. If you get a dialog box that says it is not approved there should be an option to install anyway. Click that option and it should install correctly.
  17. Are you sure you downloaded the correct driver for the OS you are using?
  18. Look in bios advanced options for an option to restart instead fo shutdown.
  19. Restart after shutdown could be a setting in the bios. 100% cpu usage could be a program that is starting up. AV will lock up sometimes, but, since this is a clean install you probably do't have an AV installed yet. Look in Task Manager to see what process is taking up the CPU.
  20. Try uninstalling the USB drivers. Then shutdown and let Windows install them again. It sounds like you have a buggy driver or possibly a bad USB controller on the motherboard.
  21. Hello and welcome.
  22. Try these results from google. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=convert+excel+tables+to+mySQL&btnG=Google+Search
  23. Maybe your hard drive is going bad. Might want to make an image of the drive so you have it for when the drive dies completely.
  24. You need to download and install the drivers for the new card.
  25. Could be a bad stick of ram, overheating problem or video card problem.
