I have read all of the responses to this problem but found no cure. I did run the System File Checker which did not help. I am trying to run (I already installed) "Voyetra Teach Me Piano" on a Toshiba laptop running Vista. While running the program it will go to do something (some functions work OK) I get the "Ntvdm.exe has stopped working" message. This software is no longer supported by Voyetra Turtle Beach but I would like to get it to run. I had successfully used it on an older XP computer that I no longer have. Should I give up or is there something I can do to fix the problem. Thank you. View this thread

Hi, I am running 64-bit Windows 7 and I wanted Microsoft Security Essentials so I Googled "Microsoft Security Essentials for windows 7 64-bit". The first link was to the official download at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download so I clicked on it and downloaded it, but when I tried to install it a message popped up telling me that I couldn't install it due to my computer having a 64-bit operating system and the version of microsoft security essentials being a 32-bit version. After that I tried looking around on the microsoft forums for a link to the 64-bit version and couldn't find any. Could someone please help me find the download link? View this thread

I need help in resolving an issue. I keep getting error code 800B0100 when trying to install two updates from Windows Update. I downloaded and then used Microsoft System Update Readiness Tool and the Troubleshooter, problems are detected and "fixed" but the two updates continue not to be installed. I repeat the process with same "fixes" and the same outcomes. I am using Windows 7, 64 bit on a Dell computer. The two updates are: Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2789645) Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2808735) Thank you for your help. When I try to open it, nothing happens. It is not listed among the programs available for uninstalling. My music files are present but not playable. i run Vista home Prem. SV Pac 2. Will not open wmp files received by e mail either. Is there a work around? I cannot find the program on the MS web site to try to reinstall it. i found that i'm supposed to have "installed" wmp version 11.0.6002.18311 because when i tried to resolve the problem by installing an "update", i could not install it as it was an "older version" than the one it found i had installed already. Don't know where to turn at this point. View this thread

Hello, On April 10th, I received an update to my GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 through Windows update (was marked as an important update). Since then I keep getting error messages in event viewer that show the NVIDIA Daemon and updater fail. The message I receive is "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information." " Microsoft Visual ++C Runtime Library." In event viewer the details are listed as "The service did not start due to a login failure." and "The specified account password has expired." How am I supposed to know the password assigned to this service? Should I roll back driver? I can get no support help from NVIDIA. I am hoping someone has come across this password thing before and can tell me what to do. By the way, the service logon is not local, but something else I don't recognize. Thanks for any help or advice you can give. View the thread

Hello, [OS Version: Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 Build: xpsp.sp3.gdr.101209-1647 Service Pack 3] I am trying to Scan for Available patches offline(with wsusscan.cab) on Windows XP using wuapi.dll in C#. Below is the code UpdateSessionClass updateSession = new UpdateSessionClass() IUpdateServiceManager updateServiceManager = updateSession.CreateUpdateServiceManager() IUpdateService updateService = updateservmanager.AddScanPackageService("Offline Sync Service", CabFilepath, 0) IUpdateSearcher updateSearcher = updateSession.CreateUpdateSearcher() updateSearcher.ServerSelection = ServerSelection.ssOthers updateSearcher.ServiceID = updateService.ServiceID ISearchResult searchResult = updateSearcher.Search("IsInstalled=0 or IsInstalled=1") This code works fine on other Windows XP versions and Windows 7. The issue is with this particular build xpsp.sp3.gdr.101209-1647. All the dlls on this machine are old. They have not been updated. So it is still using wuapi.dll from 2008. Initially when I ran this code, I got an Exception Unable to cast COM object of type 'WUApiLib.UpdateSessionClass' to interface type 'WUApiLib.IUpdateSession3'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{918EFD1E-B5D8-4C90-8540-AEB9BDC56F9D}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)). at WUApiLib.UpdateSessionClass.CreateUpdateServiceManager() To resolve this issue, I unregistered the existing wuapi.dll that is in System32 folder and then replaced that dll with newer version of wuapi.dll and registered it again. This time I was able to create "UpdateServiceManager" but threw an exception at AddScanPackageService(). The Exception is Specified cast is not valid. at WUApiLib.UpdateServiceManagerClass.AddScanPackageService(String serviceName, String scanFileLocation, Int32 flags) I am not able to get any more information on that exception. Also, I have no idea why the cast is not valid. Do I have to replace any other dlls like I did with wuapi.dll? What am I missing here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. [note: I cannot upgrade my OS. I have to work with this version and build] View this thread
