Sir, I purchased a laptop hp pavillion g6 with win 7 home basic pre installed one year ago. After that I purchased windows 7 ultimate and windows 8 and installed it as another boot due to game supporting problems. So I have three boots, win7 home basic on c, win7 ultimate on g, and win8 on h partition and also i have a logical partition E which contains my personal files, musics, setups, etc. When I was making partitions from C first time with a third party software, some MFT, $log files, and some system files were drawn to another partition and some windows files on c gets corrupted that diskchk did not recovered. Now I want to recover my files using hp recovery cd I created during laptop purchasing. My question is 'Is it possible to do recovery with cd that format and recover only c drive (which has more than 100 GB free) and do not affect other boots on G and H and also my personal files on E?' I have just installed the latest version of Windows Live Messenger on 4-30-2013. I already had the one that was connected to Skype but I guess this is supposed to be better. After installing the update I get an error message from Skype saying "Skype Home is unavailable at the moment. Check back later to see your news and alerts." And now the Windows Live Messenger icon that used to appear in the Taskbar is not showing up at all. So I figured I would open up Bing and click on the Messenger icon there on the Bing Bar. After correctly signing in to Windows Live I get yeat ANOTHER error message saying "We can't sign you in because the network isn't available. Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet and try again." After this update to Windows Live Messenger Skype doesn't work properly anymore, Windows Messenger will not start, and I cannot sign into Windows Live through BING because it thinks that I am not connected to the internet! What kind of update is that? Is there anyway to reverse this absolutely horrible disaster that this update has caused? Everything was totally fine until the update. And how does that update effect Windows Messenger, BING, adn Skype all at once? View this thread

Windows update fails to install KB2817183 &amp reports error code 8007371C on a hp notebook running VISTA 64 bit OS. Ongoing and remains the only update that won't install for the past weeks. When I sign it and make an error, or someone that uses my computer makes an error, the predictive text shows all the users that ever signed on and all of the ones entered in error. So I now have 12 users that show and only one of them is good, how do I get the drop down list erased and only show my one correct Id. In trying to get Google Earth to work (again) I have been uninstalling certain things. I uninstalled security essentials via add / remove programs. Now, on booting it says it won't open that. No surprise, since I thought I deleted it. But when I go to MS to try to re-install, it says it's already installed, so must first uninstall. So I go back in to first uninstall, again, it says can't find files to uninstall. Thus it's apparently corrupted. So how can I get rid of corrupted version, so I can re-install?
