Smtp Setup With Asp Creating 500 Internal Server Errors

You need to set your app pool to run in 32 bit mode. That is a common problem and is well documented on this forum. -
Hi everyone. There is another thread describing my exact scenario, although there appears to have been no attempt offer any suggestions since it was initially posted over two months ago: Contacting Server for Information When Printing Email in Outlook 2010. So I thought I would phrase the question differently and see what anyone might have to say about it. It appears that on our PCs with Windows 7 Professional and MS Office 2010, when a user attempts to print an Email with a web page embedded in the body of the message, a message about "contacting the server for information" appears for upwards of 45 seconds, and then after another two or three minutes, the message finally prints out. This seems to happen whether the user wants to print to a network printer or one that is attached locally to his/her PC. In similar, but not exactly the same, threads there are hints that this might be a firewall issue, where the system does not trust messages with HTML code. So, on one of these computers, I tried disabling the Windows Firewall and also Windows Defender. This made no difference in the scenario whatsover. So, my question is ... is there a workaround if not a solution? My management wants either a fix or an explanation as to why it can't be fixed. Hence, this post by me. This does not seem to happen on our Windows XP machines with Office 2003. Thanks for whatever ideas you all can offer. Marty Martin J. Franek View this thread

Russian website WZOR has somehow acquired an internal Microsoft roadmap/documentation that reveals the Redmond company's plans for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2008. Based on the "leaked" information, consumers may see Windows 8 in early January 2013. According to the roadmap. Microsoft will commence development of Windows 8 Milestone 3 (M3) in March. Following M3, the company will release two public beta milestone builds in Windows 8's development. Microsoft will then develop and distribute the Release Candidate (RC) followed by the Release To Manufacturing (RTM) build reportedly three months later. Finally, as previously stated, Windows 8 will reach the General Availability (GA) phase on Monday, January 7, 2013. As for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008, the roadmap reveals that Service Pack 2 has been in the works since fall of 2010, and is expected to arrive in mid-2012. The report did not indicate what the upcoming service pack will bring to both platforms. As reported Thursday, Windows 8 surfaced in an NDA presentation, revealing an App Store that will enable users to run apps in full-screen, and re-download previously-purchased apps that may have been lost due to system failure or hard drive reformatting. Other reports have indicated that Windows 8 will be modular in nature so that the OS can work on desktops and notebooks as well as mobile devices. Windows 8 will also supposedly be heavily cloud-based, possibly storing cloud-based user accounts, system backup files, and more. Source: Tom's Hardware

Only Microsoft knows how the next version of its Windows operating system will look and what it will be called, but big changes could be ahead for the OS observers refer to as "Windows 8." At this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Microsoft announced that Windows 8 will support system-on-a-chip architectures using ARM processors. Unlike the x86 architecture that today's Windows laptops and desktops work with, ARM-based chips tend to run such low-power devices as tablets and smartphones. In his CES keynote speech, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said, "This announcement is really all about enabling a new class of hardware, and new silicon partners for Windows, to bring the widest possible range of form factors to the market." Related Story: Predictions: The world of IT in 2011, according to IT World Canada In other words, Windows won't be just for laptops and desktops anymore. Actual Facts Microsoft's ARM announcement represents the firm's only officially released factual detail about Windows 8. Consistent with it, the company named Nvidia, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments as silicon partners, so Windows devices built upon their three low-power platforms are likely. At an architectural summit in London last year, Microsoft encouraged the idea of virtualizing Windows more heavily, possibly storing apps, data, Windows settings, and parts of the OS itself in the cloud.
