Smtp Setup With Asp Creating 500 Internal Server Errors

What are the logs saying? What error is produced? A 500 error is generic so you need to look in the logs to see what the exact error was. Without that kind of information we more than likely would never be able to figure out the problem. Have you considered using asp.net and System.Web.Mail? -
Remote desktop services is terminal services in 2008 R2. So they are the same just renamed is all.
