I'm using Vista Home Premium and constantly reminded of 8 updates that always fail to download/install. I attempted to manually install, and the failure info states that the updates aren't compatible with my version of Windows. ???? If that's the case, why are they there? Anyway, if these particular updates aren't compatible and won't download, can they be deleted from Windows Update? View this thread

I recently received a call from Danniel from R&G Windows Support phone #: 1-226-777-0091. They said they had been getting several error messages from my computer and that they needed to get access to it. That morning, I noticed that Windows Updates were looping on update 16. I turned off the computer, turned it back on and downloaded the updates manually, all was well I thought. Anyway, I was convinced that we had problems and they took command and provided us with service and downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials, we paid over $300. with the credit card. Were we scammed? I receive a daily update to my vista operating system with the code KB954430 & KB973688 . It says it is Security update micros XML SERVICE PACK 2. Why do I receive these daily updates for the same update? View this thread

Hi. I have a Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack allowing installation on 3 PC's. It has so far been only used on 2, though is now a couple of years old. I am seriously thinking of buying a Mac, and would like to run Windows for some non Mac software I use. If I use Parallels software would I be able to use my Windows 7 upgrade disc, which is perfectly legal and has the key, to install Windows 7 on a new Mac? TIA Paul View the thread

I'm trying to install SP2 with Vista Home Premium. I keep getting the error 0x800f0900 ... I've tried a number of recommended fixes without any success. Had to do a full recovery on my XP machine. Trying to install service pack 3 and security essentials. I keep getting promted to validate this copy of windows.Same copy thats been in it since new. I goto the sight by microsoft and it says not to navigate off the page while it is validating this copy. It will say done but copy is not validated. Any idea's? View this thread

When I close the computer, there are always 2 sometimes three updates. I ran a system analyzer and among other things, it came up with over 1000 registry errors. Is it possible that this is the source of my painfully slow performance? I've run disk defrag, virus scan, removed any unneeded programs at start up (that I can find). I am running XP Media Center Version 2002 SP 3. do I need a registry cleaner? suggestions? Frequently when I start to load windows it goes through to the user choice and when clicking on main user no bottom tool bar is present nor any icons. If I turn off my computer and retry it goes through the loading completely satisfactorily. What can I do to correct this? View this thread
