I have followed the instructions given in reply to previous questions for dealign with error message DNS server not responding (checking ipconfig eg). Problem persists connection keeps dropping. Using Windows 7 Professional 64. Prob may be with drivers for Dell Wireless 5540. Have downloaded driver but unable to install b/c of authentication failure. Any suggestions, pls? My machine is running 32bit version of Windows 7 and I am considering upgrading it to 64bit system. I had run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, the result showed that the system needs at least 2GB of RAM (the result is uploaded in the Skydrive link https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=CD59C312432E2341!110). My concern is, apart from the RAM requirement, what else do I need to look into before I spend for the upgrade. I also read an article that says, in order to run a 64bit OS, the processor must also be a 64bit CPU. How do I check that? Thanks View the thread

I deleted solitaire from my computer awhile back. Now I want it back. How can I download or reinstall Solitaire for Vista Home Premium 32-bit OS?I just tried the following method: Control Panel, Programs, Turn Windows Features On/Off (deselected Solitaire and then selected solitaire), Restarted. I have tried every method of turning off the damned magnifier, but none of them are correct in Win 7. The above method has no "Turn on Magnifier" box to uncheck anywhere. This is REALLY aggravating! Going to Mac if I can't get this off my computer soon. View the thread

I've lost the navigation pane in WLPhoto Gallery and I can't "go up a folder" or reverse my steps in the folder hierarchy at all. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd time this happened I ultimately returned to normal by doing a system restore. The fourth time... no such luck. I'm stuck in a particular folder until I download more photos and then I'm stuck there. It's making me absolutely crazy. I've got these recovery disks one of which is the Windows Experience but I have no idea if this will be a help. Any suggestions? View the thread

About a week ago whenever I go to different emails in my box, my mail will close and then reopen again. It just says an error has occurred and it starts back up. If I don't skip around in my email box it doesn't seem to happen as much but if I want to keep something in email and then go to another one it shuts down. View this thread

My HP Office 6500 Wireless Printer has suddenly stopped printing in Black. I replaced the Black cartridge with a new unit from HP and when I check ink levels, it show no ink for Black. Other three colors resister as 3/4 full. View this thread

After upgrade to MS Security Essentials 4, CPU still works on +-30%. It falls down only when i turn off active protection. I have done scan for viruses with MSSE and some free oneuse vireus removers, antispywares, antimalwares .... but it seems to be clean. Thanks for help ... View this thread

I downloaded Microsoft Office Professional Plus and when trying to install it unpacks and then immediately errors out to "The Installation of this package failed" and then closes. Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, icore 7 processor, 16gb ram, SSD drive. I do not have any previous version of Microsoft office installed, although I do have open office installed. View this thread

After cold booting my Toshiba Satellite laptop with Vista, Task Manager's Processes pane will show no instances of iexplore.exe. However, after using the computer for a while (using Outlook, Crome, Excel etc.) my system slowly grinds almost to a halt as multiple instances of iexplore.exe appear in the Processes pane, each consuming 15 to 25% of the total CPU cycles. This gets worse and worse until the system become unusable.I am one of many thousands of Windows users who is plagued by the iexplore.exe virus. I've used 5 different malware/virus removers (including MS Security Essentials and MSERT.exe) but they don't solve this problem. Why hasn't Microsoft acknowledged this dangerous virus and done something to remove it? (MSERT.EXE does not help). The only users I have found on the web who have rid themselves of this nasty virus are those who reformatted their hard drives. Surely Microsoft can do better than that. Has anyone found a fix that actually works? (Many of the suggested fixes on the net "seem" to work for a few hours or day or two but then the virus pops back up again and consumes most or all of the CPU cycles).I'm amazed that Microsoft do not have a solution for the problem. I have this problem, when I plug in my webcam and open skype and try to start video my computer blue screens, the following info is shown after reboot. My system is Vista home premium 64. Hi, My computer was infected by a trojan virus. My virus protection identified it and quarantined it. Following this, the computer is back on operation, however : 1-the desktop is blank 2- the right-click (or left-click) mouse on the desktop is inoperative and 3- all icons have disappeared, however all the files, personal or other, are still on C: What can I do to recover a fully operative desktop?
