I'm working on a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows Vista that keeps crashing after just booting in to Windows. I had been scanning for malware and the computer had froze, so after 3.5 hours I just gave it a hard shut down. Now I'm getting the error in the subject line. I've tried multiple restore points but nothing changes, I need to avoid a complete wipe of the computer. View this thread

After a reinstall of Vista I have no Service Packs. I'm having trouble finding out how to download SP1 from Windows Update. I've updated but SP1 is not included as far as I can tell. Thanks View this thread

I recently updated my Toshiba Equium L40-10U to the Vista Service Pack 2 and now my wireless is not working. I have tried updating my driver - but its already been updated, checked for updates - all installed, ensured driver was enabled. Yet I still can't get wireless to work, I am not sure what to do now!I have checked my network connections and my wan miniport (PPPOE) is disconnected and when trying to connect it it comes up with ERROR 815. I then proceeded to make sure that my internet connection options were correct - not to dial a connection and not to allow the proxy server, and still receive this message.My LAC is Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC (not sure if thats helpful or not) I was tempted to disable it then try and enable it again? But not sure whether that would improve the situation or not. View this thread

Windows 7 Home Premium. These updates continually recycle. Have tried everything I can find to fix: 1. Used "Fix It' standard and aggressive versions. 2. Have stopped and restarted Windows Update services and rebooted then installed again. 3. Have tried ALL suggestions under Article 906602. 4. I never get an error code. 5. The updates appear on the "Installed Updates", Status successful. If I double click on them, I am asked if I want in UNINSTALL. Does this mean they really are installed?? 6. i was scammed with this site and now I need to get my computer cleaned again, I had done this prior to being scammed. I have recovery dvds and I was wondering what these are actually for. I did change my administrator password after the fact of learning of this scam. Also notified my bank of the scam but they just told me to call that technical support number to have them stop the recurring payments. Safecart did refund for the ProCleaner because I told them (logmein123) I didn't want it anymore. Now since I am taking it to a professional computer tech they told me to not get on the computer at all until its cleaned out. So this is getting very costly for me. I had Staples fix it for $190 and then Logmein took me "hook line and sinker". Now I have to pay another computer tech money to fix it again. By the way, I did notify my credit card company of the large amt I was charged from the SafeCart because of this scam operation. Hopefully I get that credited. This is a valuable lesson for me, I am just hoping my computer can get fixed. View this thread

Hi, I'm running Windows 7 up until a couple of days ago I was able to change home page tabs at will. Now it will only display a yahoo tab unable to change or remove.
