I'm trying to delete a folder from my c: drive called battle.net (Diablo 3). However when I right click on it to try and delete it, it says I need permission todo so. I'm using Vista Home premium 64 bit. I've noticed that the only folders that give me the option to run as administrator andperform deletes are marked with the microsoft symbol. How do I get permission to delete the non-MS folder?Den View this thread

Haven't touch deploying Office for the last few versions. I remember with Office 2003 [if I remember right] that when Office was installed from a network share with an admin install, if that network share was removed, updates to Office won't install as Office [setup] was looking for the network share. Can I assume that if I install Office 2010 Pro Plus [or Enterprise] from a network share with an admin install that it stores the MSOCache locally and it won't complain about missing files when updating? I have just installed MSE and did a Quick Scan but as I was watching the scan progress I noticed that the green progress bar only filled up halfway before the scan finished. Is everything being scanned or is there a problem with it. View this thread

I have downloaded and installed 'Abine' DNT+ do not track software, but operation is blocked. I reeive the following popup message: Uh-oh, DNT+ wasn't allowed to communicate like normal, it's DNTPService.exe was terminated. This is often caused by overactive antivirus or security software. First, try restarting Internet Explorer. If that doesn't bring you joy, you may need to configure your security software to allow the DNTPService.exe process to run. Machine Dell 610 Latitude Laptop WinXP Pro SP3 IE8 Microsoft Security Essentials MS is updated regularly as is the AV. I disabled MS Essentials including the Firewall - No Joy I do not believe there is any other active scaning security software running on this machie. Do you have any ideas what is blocking this app? Ok, here we go. I am studying for my A+ on my own. I have two older laptops, one is a HP 6230 and the other a Dell Inspiron 6000. On a whim, I wiped the HP clean. It previously ran XP SP3 Professional. I reinstalled that on my Dell. Good to go and it runs fine. With me so far??? The Dell ran XP SP3 Home. I installed that on the HP and attempted to activate but was denied. Think I may have answered my question and want to know if I need a multi user license for the home edition. I understand Microsoft is transitioning the user base to 7 however I prefer XP for programming my radios (am a electronics tech with a wireless background) because my expensive programs will not run on 7 and cannot afford to upgrade them. I'm helping out a friend and now I need help. The friend purchased a Compaq laptop from eBay. Installing a USB wireless adapter in the laptop and decided to also do the Microsoft security updates and load a anti-virus since it didn't have one. The updates went to the validation of the software and it has failed. There is a MS product key on the bottom that is easily readable. The windows xp update product key did not work. I then noticed the key is for XP Home Edition. The laptop had XP Pro installed. I have a dusty copy of XP Home Edition (I'm running only Win 7) from a long gone PC. Can I use it and the key on the bottom of the laptop? My copy has a product key on the box. Really hate to re-install but that is the case. Does Digital River have a copy of XP Home Edition I can get? The laptop does not meet the specs for even Vista. Thanks from me and him. Darryl View this thread

I received an external hard drive gift recently – it is FAT32 formatted. My laptop c drive is NTFS formatted – OS win7. I understand that win 7 also supports FAT32 format. So do I need to reformat the external hard drive before I can use it on my latop? That is, can my laptop deal speak with a FAT32 ext hard drive if it is NTFS formatted? View the thread

my laptop OS is Wind 7 and has 3 usb ports. how do i know if they are compatible with usb 3.0 transfer technology (eg an external hard drive that is capable of transferring data at 3.0 speed). the device manager in control panels does not seem to reveal this information. Alternatively, if the external hard drive can transfer data at 3.0 speed, does my laptop have to be compatible with this? View the thread

Hello Indroducing my self 1st, I'M a NewBlood at this kind of things, I don't know anything about how to config you PC or anything else I already tried to viewread the forums but they don't have what exactly what I'm looking for, maybe I didn't searched enough, thats the highest possibility, I know. I want to organize my PC, this way: - 2 HardDrives: 1st is the OS Drive, 2nd is the StorageDrive (SD) - All documents on the SD (words, excel files......, save's/config's of games, transfers - movies, music, games (WinRAR), my music, my videos/movies, my images/pics, the normal things that the "documents" or "my documents" has). - On the OS Drive have all the installations (programs- JAVA, Adobe acrobat reader, Microsoft Office, games, GoogleChrome etc) For example: I downloaded a game online (BF P4F), and I change the Documents on to the other drive, so now the settings (controle settings etc.) changed and now the game won't save the settings that I put, plus it crashes down when I try to save the changes. - I want anything that is gonna be transfered/downloaded to my PC, goes to the SD like this- D:juniordownloads - All my music that I hear go - D:juniorMusic or My Music - My games that are installed on the C: drive (OS drive), I want their saved/config's files to be at D:juniordocuments (some games save their files on "My Games" so it would be like this- D:juniordocumentsMy Games) but the saved files maybe gonna be a problem (I don't know for sure about this!!!!), because the games are programed to saved on that specific drive on that specific folder, so it can't find and it won't save or it will create a folder that I don't know where! on de OSD! I don't want to have lots os folders named Documents/My documents, its some sort of library of "documents" there is tons of that folders that aren't be used its only **** for me, I think. Anouther thing that already accured to me, I was trying to change a location of a folder, and then I wanted to move it again, there was no more the location option (tab), I already tried on some other folders and I saw that some folders don't have that tab too, so some have, others don't. Some only have it once when you change them then they stop having it. ok therefore I'm here to get my PC organized all again, without srewing it up again. PLS HELP I want this way OS and the SD, so when the PC starts working like ****, I format the PC only on the OS drive, because I know what is in the SD, and in OS windows (or other programs) starts to create files/folders, and filling with ****, so I say its time to format, so I always have my things, on the side safely.
