My computer, Windows Vista Home Basic have failed to install SP2 persistently and I've tried to restart the three services: background intelligence, windows update, cryptographic services/ renaming catroot2 and softwaredistribution and rebooted the computer. When installed during safe mode, it failed. When installed through the standalone package, it failed Cannot find object or property code error 0x80090024 CRYPT_E_NOT_FOUND. When installed through windows update, same error code. System File Checker report that the system have no violations and despite all of this sp2 remain unresolved. System Readiness Tool installed one update but barely helped me to install sp2. Can anyone figure this out? View this thread

A while back, my computer was hit with a really bad strain of the Google virus and after removal, Windows Updates and System Restore no longer work. I tried downloading the updates manually from the Windows Update website manually using IE but I keep getting the following message: The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. I have a antispyware program installed that im paying for but when i go to microsoft security, it says that no antivirus software detected, why wont it detect my antivrus software i have sure antispyware professional, it checks for spyware,malware,viruses,trojans,worms,adware etc...im running windows xp 32 bit and i also had a ballon pop up and said my firwall was off and its on and when i used microsoft fixit center it said it cant make windowss firewall my default firewall? would appreciate any help with these issues.... I just purchased a Acer M3450 running AMD Quad Core 4100 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. It came with 6 gig of ddr 3 ram. It has four ram slots with only three used (3x2gig). I would like to add more ram up to at least 8 gig. What will work better performance wise, adding one more stick of 2 gig making all dual channel or putting in just two 2x4 gig sticks in the dual channel mode.
