Hi to everyone. Could windows 7 ultimate function like this? Could they 'save' my session in case of an immediate reboot? We need automatic replacement e.g. multiple IE windows with it's tabs opened, in the state they were before the action. I have seen this on some GNU/Linux distributions. View the thread

I'm currently running XP SP3 32 bit on AMD Athlon 64 machine, 2GB RAM. I'd like to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit. I've read this: http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-xp-to-windows-7 I've run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - 64 bit version says 9 issues, 8 of which are software (Adobe, shockwave, .NET 1.1, etc.), but the one that makes me nervous is the VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter driver needs to be updated. I've run Belarc, and identified chipset as VT8237 so I downloaded the latest driver from here: http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp, and got driver version 3.87a dated 5-May-2011. I re-ran upgrade advisor, and it's still showing that I need to get the latest driver. I have the latest driver, using my CURRENT OS to pick. Do I need to download the driver for the VT8237 selecting Windows 7 as the OS? View the thread

Why do I need this? Why is it "Important"? Is it the same update that I've had listed as "optional" for the last few months? Why is it not being issued by nVidia? Quite honestly, after an horrendous experience updating this card's driver from the nVidia website a year ago I am not inclined to make any changes. I have been using Microsoft Calendar in the Vista operating system and have set up recurring appointments on the 20th of each month. This has worked fine up until this month. I want to retain all previous appointments as the 20th but now I want this month and all future months to be on the 15th of the month. Can this be done? It appears to me that I can only change a single month or change the whole series from beginning Month a couple of years ago. Is this true? If so, what a pain. Thanks for any assistance with this. Hi everyone. I cannot add my google account to Windows 8 Mail App, nor to the People app. When I enter the credentials it tries to login but then it says to check if the username and/or password are correct. I am doing copy and paste so I am sure they are correct. The situation is the following: I have a Microsoft account and a Google account Both accounts refer to the same Gmail address: xxxxx@gmail.com I was able to login with the Microsoft account I am not able to connect with the Google account Any ideas? I would guess that a user preference set by the user. I don't know if there is any way to force the keyboard to the users.

Why when I click on any of my folder shortcuts on the desktop, do my windows, such as My Documents, open in a little (approx) 4" x 4" window instead of a full window. This is very annoying and I can not figure out how to get them to open in full windows. Any help is greatly appreciated. Jerry View the thread

We are trialing Windows 8 Pro RTM on a few workstations. Upon deleting anything from a network share (running Windows Server 2008 R2 with 'hard' disk quotas) it does not appear to release the disk space - this shows on both the FSRM Console and the drive mapped to the workstation. On the server itself through file explorer, the disk space has been released, so this looks to be a bug(?) with Windows 8 and quota management not updating its quotas. Anyone have any ideas or have the same problem as this kills the idea of deployment across the entire enterprise for us (potentially upsetting 15k+ users). Thanks!
