Need answer about showmypc.com I got a phone call from a man with a very thick, Indian accent saying that my computer had been hacked and that they were receiving a lot of errors from my computer. He had to got to web site called "showmypc.com" and with ID # 3151 and then with pass word 2134-4860-7600 after they fool me to get access to my computor and told me that Microsoft allowed them to install a software to protect my computor and I need to pay them $20 for life to get this sofware then asked me to get all my information then I wake up and told them them they are scammers and can't do any harm to my computer then he and wthe women with him get so mad and start treating me to crash my computor in the next two or three days..bla bla bla . I wish Microsoft alerting the public that No body will be scammed by these people in the future they are targeting thos who have no good knowldege about computor Please Please find them or do something to stop them by alerting the public at larg the phone number they called to my place is 206-701-0285. I have been using MS Money for many years and my latest version is Money Plus Deluxe. I know that MS has stopped all support and the online funtions have also been stopped. I generally always enter all my transactions manually so that has never been a problem. Until today. For some reason i can move around in my account, balance etc. What it will not allow me to do is enter a new transaction. What is happening and is this a PC problem or has MS totally shut this down? i have rebooted my pc., backed up my accounts but i cannot add a new transaction to my checking account. Help. I bought a computer last year(2011) and I purchased Kaspersky Pure for protection. I have used it all year and it is now time to purchase a renewal, which I did. I followed all the download instructions and I can't install it on the computer. I don't think Windows 7 is allowing me to install it. I downloaded it but a box comes up and says "the icon on the desktop(which Kaspersky said to download to) can't be used because it is not valid. From Help: "If you're saving your backups on a hard drive or network location, Windows Backup will create a new, full backup for you automatically when needed." This indicates it is possible to save backups on a network location, but I don't see a way to specify one in Backup and Restore settings. It only shows hard drives, DVD, etc. View the thread

I saw the windows live and as I had made the mistake in upgrading to windows 8 and outlook express wasn't available I tried it. It is the same **** as outlook and its impossible to get microsoft to respond to any simple requests for assistance. I feel its best I delete all but my word program and change back to yahoo, at least it works. Mike View this thread

I cannot use the Windows 7 Remote Desktop Client to connect to my Windows 8 Pro machine using a Microsoft account. It fails as if it's a bad password. I've tried multiple formats:me@email.com email.comme email.comme@email.com pcnameme@email.com etc. Interestingly it does work using Remote Desktop Connection Manager v2.2. I erased the audio-sound driver by accident. Just being stupid and trigger happy. Found a realtek driver (sp26731.exe) that fit the description and installed but toward the end it said I needed a Microsoft bus driver before it could complete the installation. I am lost. I had Windows 7 (retail Upgrade version, with key) running on my old computer. Just built a brand new computer, and wanted to run my windows 7 on it (and disassemble my old one). My original plan was to build everything new---except my hard drive---and I had asked the Microsoft Community before hand if I could do this. The replies were that I could, but I might need to do a repair install and then reactivate Windows (because of the hardware change). I tried that---but after numerous attempts, Windows simply wouldn't load from my former drive. By looking through the error reports, I came upon, "Root cause found: Unspecified changes to system configuration might have cause problem." Didn't know what to do at that point. So, today I purchased a new hard drive. I looked at Microsoft Support (using my laptop), and under "Reinstalling Windows 7," it said to choose the "Custom Installation" (which is, of course, a clean install). I did so, and when completed, I tried to reactivate Windows 7. I went through the procedure with a phone representative, and ended up getting the "0xC004F061" error, caused because I'm trying to use an upgrade version and didn't have Windows XP installed. So, the representative said there was nothing she could do, and hung up on me. Had I understood that I needed to have XP running, I could have installed it first---although my copy of XP is OEM because I received it when I bought a computer years ago, and so, maybe the key on that wouldn't work anymore as well? But in my present situation, I don't know how to remove Windows 7 from my (single-drive, single-boot) system to give that a try. Any suggestions? I likely can't even pay the $40 and upgrade to Windows 8, because the Windows 7 version is not activated. Linux is looking better and better... Thanks for any assistance. View the thread

This happens quite frequently and gets worse.... as I try to do streaming vidio. The system crashes and it will restart.... but I get no feed back from microsoft....even after several updated crash reports. Seems Vista gets more unstable as time wears on . Only was installed 2 months prior.... I've tried restore points to no avail. I've tried all kinds of microsoft fix it solutions...Still no help. This is a true licensed copy of Vista by Microsoft. When I bought My new PC I was sold an Anti Virus/Firewall product - Norton Gold as part of the package. - I have disabled the windows Firewall as the Norton Gold has An Integrated one but should I also disable Defender as it is now also a full anti-Virus product? View this thread
