There appears to be a growing crowd of users experiencing BSODs involving the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouses. I, for example, have the WMM4000 on a Vista 32 bit machine. If the receiver is unplugged, instant BSOD (IRQL-type error). Even then, on occasion, the laptop will just hit the same BSOD error on its own.Is there a definite answer for fixing these mice? Buenas, Creo que tengo un troyano en el ordenador desde el 8/12/2012. Por mis consultas a internet creo que es Lyposit.B, aunque no puedo estar seguro. Me mostró un mensaje tipo: "El equipo ha sido bloqueado por violar las leyes de España", y un largo etc. solicitando el pago de una multa para desbloquear la computadora. Apagué el ordenador ya que me lo dejó bloqueado y al encenderlo busqué información por internet para intentar averiguar que tipo de malware/troyano/virus podría ser y eliminé alguna entrada en el registro de windows. Como esta "C:Documents and SettingsPropietarioConfiguración localDatos de programaqzbtSlShie.exe" en: key-current-user -> software-> microsoft ->command processor También instalé diferentes programas anti-malware gratuitos como "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware", pero ¿¿¿ ninguno parece limpiar la infección???. El problema que ahora tengo es que no consigo instalar completamente ningún programa antivirus. En general el programa se instala por no consigue dejar activo el servicio de análisis en tiempo real, y me indica que el ordenador está en peligro. El último que he intentado instalar es Microsoft Security Essentials, y me vuelve a pasar lo mismo. Se instala, pero me indica que el estado del equipo es "en riesgo", y la protección en tiempo real está desactivada. La opción para activarla no funciona y acaba dando un mensaje de error porque se agota el tiempo de espera. Código de error 0x800705b4 ¿Alguna solución? I have picked up the PC MightyMax 2012 malware on my laptop. I am running Windows XP with the latest updates. My antivirus program is Microsoft Essentials. I have run a quick scan with no results. I have also run Microsoft Malware Removal tool with no results. PC MightyMax program does not show up on the installed list when I check the ADD/Removal programs. There is a pop-up that appears at times on the computer that says I have 856 problems on the laptop. I am currently running a full scan with Microsoft Essentials so far nothing has shown up. I have also run MALWAREBytes - Anti Malware. PC MightyMax 2012 still has not been removed from the system. Any Suggestions? View this thread

I have 2 installs of Windows 8, one Pro, one Enterprise. I am having an issue setting the screensaver to display my photos. I get a message stating: There are no pictures in c:usersmy user namepictures. I have a bunch in there, and the photo app sees all my pictures too. If I chose a single sub folder under my pictures, the screensaver will work, but it will not work when the pictures(my pictures) folder is selected. MSE won't run scan even though I changed the time of scan. Checked to see if Ccleaner had, 'MS Antimalware' and MS Management Console' unchecked , it is. How long will I have to wait until it will scan by it's self.....10hrs or 24hrs? I can do it manually, but won't tell me if it will ever scan again. Thanks for any help.... ` View this thread

When I reboot my computer, the icon for Micro Sec Essen does NOT appear in the task bar. This started a few weeks ago. When I check security in the control panel, it says it is running. so, I click on it under all programs in the start menu and the icon appears. I recently downloaded the Window Pro update to my Windows 7 laptop. I was not aware that Windows 8 would lock down my account. I am the only user of this computer so I never created a separate user account. Now when I attempt to open IE or many other applications, such as the 'Store', I get the 'Application Can't Open---Store can't be opened using 'built-in administrator account try logging on with a different account'. Well that would be fine except all my last two years of work are not available to any other account. Windows 8 turned my user account into a restricted admin. I have tried to update while turning security off and it says update successful but then it says it failed on the windows update list. I am thinking of reformatting my computer but that is a pain in the butt. Any advice would be very helpful. Plus I have a stuttering problem on audio and visual players. ARRRRGGGHHH! Got myself a second hand Toshiba Satelite laptop this last week, previosly owned by a school so was cleaned of all their programs and info before being sold. I thought it best update but upon doing so once the microsoft webpage has started scanning my computer it displays a message stating it couldnt complete the search... and in the right hand corner is the error code 0x801901F4. After searching the internet i discoverd there were a few download tools which after downloading and using to scan the laptop found a varying number of problems... from 165 to 475 and of course they all wanted a certain amount of cash to fix. So another search found different settings i could change in order to fix the problem so microsoft could fully check my laptop and update and install service packs (currently on service pack 2 windows xp) but all changes didnt work. Just wondering what are my options to fix this problem, will buying and installing windows xp again or windows 8 fix the problem. Thanks for any help. View this thread

I have already purchased the original windows 8 pro via the upgrade assistant but unfortunately I am facing serious difficulties while downloading it, it always (except the first time which completed until 10% and then cancelled) gives the "unspecified error" so I am wondering if I can download the software through other sources using third party software such as the internet download manager and then activate it with the code but I have some questions: 1: is it legal to do so? 2: If it is where shall I download the software from without having a security risk? 3: the version of windows that I have bought the activation code for is "widows 8 provisional 64 bits" how can I choose the right file to download? I am having a issue while connecting my Samsung kies with my phone. The Samsung kies does not detect my phone. So I contacted Samsung customer center for the solution. I informed them that I am having the windows 8 pro on my laptop and the latest version of Samsung kies but the kies is not able to detect my phone. So after I gave them additional details of my phone they mentioned that for win 8 we need to install "Media feature pack" from Microsoft site and after I successfully install it the kies should be able to detect the phone. So I went to Microsoft site link is http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30685 And from here I downloaded the Windows6.2-KB2703761-x64.msu file having size of 78.8 MB. after saving the file I tried installing the same and right came the answer that "this update is not applicable to your computer". I then tried the other file i.e. Windows6.2-KB2703761-x86.msu having size of 57.9 MB and the result was the same "this update is not applicable to your computer". Please help me install the media feature pack for windows 8 pro. I have installed the media player also on the windows 8 pro. Happy New Yera, Dear Microsoft Friends! When I attempt to save a film edited in Movie Maker 6 while using the "DV AVI PAL" save mode, my WMM keeps crashing. I am using VISTA business and I successfully saved a much smaller WMM file (High Quality VIDEO) without any crashing issues.I have lots of disk space and work memory. Why is this happening? Is there a simple fix? If so, please be so very kind as to explain in laymans terms--I'm not a computer whiz, unfortuantely. :-) If not, is ther a WMM version that supports Vista Business and supports a plug-in for color saturation. Running on Windows 7 Ultimate, updates started failing a few weeks ago, then when I looked at the laptop just before Christmas I noticed ALL updates have been removed, even though it is still running SP1. If I try to check for updates I get the above error. Similarly if I try to go to IE10, that fails because of missing updates, if I try to install them manually then I am told they are not relevant for my computer. I have run the MS Fixit utility, which identifies a problem, tells me it has fixed it, but in reality it does not make any difference Norton 360 is the AV product, hav etried turning this off but it makes no difference iTunes has been removed as I read this may cause issues, makes no difference I have searched the various forums over the last few days and tried all options found, nothing works Hardware is a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop, with 4Gb RAM I thought I may fix it by going to Windows 8, but without the fully updated Win 7, the upgrade fails Any helful suggestions will be much appreciated View this thread

I have had a few problems while setting up with Windows 8 mainly with the wireless keyboard and mouse not working at all but some of this appears to be working at the moment ! My main issue now is that I have no keyboard or mouse during boot up which means I cannot access my bios at all or enter safe mode or other options. Once I get to the home screen/desktop the mouse and keyboard work again, I have tried a wired mouse and keyboard but it still does not work until I get to the start/desktop. Any idea why this is and how can I get to my bios or choose safe mode etc if I have no control ??? Also during boot, I am seeing a screen with a choice of windows 8 or Windows 7 XE which I do not have a clue what it is, there is no other operating system installed or should not be. Again as I have no control I cannot click on the Windows 7 XE logo to see what happens and I have to wait the 30 second countdown before the system automatically loads Windows 8.
