can some one help windows 8 started an update last night and has been stuck installing 4 of 14 for hours now is it ok to turn off and do a restart View this thread

Windows 7 x64 OS Avast! Anitvirus installed and working. Windows Updates KB2757638 and KB2786081 repeatedly failed to install. Errors: 800B0100 and 80070032. Tried Hotfix, did not work. I like everybody else who has the same problem, update errors asking to update the same over and over and failure everytime. Can a fresh upgrade to Windows 8 over the top of my Windows XP fix the update error issues without effecting any other files or programs on my HD ?? Thanks View this thread

I have recently installed windows 8 and noticed that I hadn't had any free discspace left. After installing windows 8 I had about 40 GB's left. I found out dat the windows edb file was nearly 40 GB's. I read that it has to do with indexing and that you can shut it down. However it doesn't seem the same in windows 7. I can shut ik down for 15 minutes and also change its location. I did this but now the file is still increasing on my other harddisk. Does anyone has the same problem and kwows a structural solution? I just got all my updates installed but this one continues to error and not install. Says error Windows Update 80070103. Not sure what that means. Help? Hi, I changed my Windows default size from 100% to 125%, decided I didn't like it and went back to 100%. Now a few things have changed font/size and I can't figure out how to change them back after playing with so many settings. I have tried the regedit fix which apparently fixes the bug in Windows 7. Didn't work. Restarted numerous times as well. Here is a picture of what is not right: http://i.imgur.com/bonbv.png As you can see, the tab text and size in Chrome is wrong.. The "12 items" in my computer is wrong.. and the drop down menus in an application like notepad is wrong.. Could anyone help me fix this? Thanks in advance, Luke. View the thread

I try to update the updates KB973688 and KB954430, they keep failing. I don't know why, but I tried to run Fix It, twice, it said it fixed the problem, it did not. The error code is 643. All other updates install, it is just these two updates.I have tried the stand-alone installs, and return an error like this:Error opening installation log file. I get automatic notices when updates are ready to be installed. I always check and choose which to install. At times, there are updates, i.e. Bing and Office 2010, which I do not choose to download. I do not see a way to delete these updates, hide them, or in some other way get rid of them. I've been all over MS Help and, guess what, no help was to be found! Can anyone here help! It removed ALL Net Framework versions. Now I can't get any except .Net Framework 4 to install. I haven't a clue on how to proceed. Having unfortunately removed ALL versions of .NET Framework, now I have to put them back. I had 1.1, 2 Service Pack2, 3 Service Pack 2, 3.5 Service Pack 1, and 4. Please advise how to 1. Download these again, 2. If there are different versions of one of these (as there are), how do I tell what I need, 3. Once in my downloads directory, how do I install them. 4. My dominsion 2400 Dell has an issue as I was able to set up the printer to another computer, Tried 3 times to get the cd to run the program through but failed. I was never able to get that printers' fax ability set up when I tried I got error message that fxscfgwz.dll was missing. What is the best way to find &amp install that file. My XP machine was cleared by the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to run either the 32 bit or 64 bit version. However I would have to upgrade my RAM to 2.0 gigabyte for the 64 bit version. I currently have 1.5 gigabytes of RAM. 2.0 gigabytes of RAM is the most my machine will allow. Would I be better off with the 32 bit version and 1.5 gigabytes of RAM or 64 bit version and upgrade to 2.0 gigabytes of RAM? What about a third option of upgrading to 2.0 gigabytes of RAM and going to the 32 bit version? Thanks in advance for any advice. View this thread

Hi, I downloaded the 64-bit version of Office 2013 Pro. When I went to install it, I got an error message saying I need the 32-bit version instead. I get an error message check the remote fax everytime Isome one sent me a fax from outside to my machine at home 3 in one dell 1135N laser MFP.
