Seriously, Microsoft??? This same error has been coming up since Windows XP! It is January 2013. Windows 8 64x. Attempting to install Adobe 9, getting this same error. I run mmc services - the services IS started, IS set to manual, and the option to change the startup is grayed out. I am an administrator on my machine. I tried the following in a cmd.exe window &quotRun as Administrator&quot. &gt msiexec /unregister &gt msiexec /regserver &gt net stop msiserver &gt net start msiserver The service reported it successfully stopped and started. Still won't install, and anything else that uses the Microsoft Windows Installer won't install. I find nothing about this happening on a Windows 8 install. I can use Windows Explorer to move files and folders, send them to the Redycle Bin, and so on. I can drag them, or use the Alt/Edit/Copy/Paste drill, without a problem. However, if I try using the Organize tab with its drop-down menu, the top line of the screen says"(not responding") after file name, the screen freezes (but for the pointer), then usually goes feint, and nothing happens for a couple of minutes, Then up comes a small Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library screen and stays there for another few minutes. I keep getting the a message with the following error code 0x800cc0f. I have repeatedly used the repair button in Outlook to let Windows fix the issue. It sync the problem and it works for awhile but the message comes back. I have tried to redo the set up to no avail. I've Goggled the error message and it indicates that it is an IMAP problem. The response is to turn of the e mail scan. I don't necessarily want to do this. Does any one have a suggestion on how to correct this situation. I also have a laptop with Windows 8 and I set it up the same way and it works fine. The only difference I can see is that on the laptop I use McAfee and the on the PC I have Trend Micro anti virus software. View the full article

Please help me. I have windows 7 64 bit I have used mse for years...but for the past month or two my mse icon disappears from my notification area. Both husbands and my computers have done this but mine definitely more frequently. Usually, restarting computer brought it back. Recently I could not get it back after 3 restarts...could not find it except to search it out and click on it that way. I want to always KNOW it is working by seeing the green icon working. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling mse 4 days ago. This morning it was missing again...restart brought it back again. Before I totally uninstall it and go to AVG which I do not want to do, can anyone help me with this issue? I am not terribly techie but need help! View this thread

Hi, having (again) resolved the dot NET 4 updates of the latest batch of Windows updates, this one resists all attempts so far. Windows update gives unknown Code 643. (I never understand how they can come up with unique codes, then call them unknown - maybe it's just so they can group them or help people find others who have the same problem and solve it for Microsoft). I've tried repairing and uninstalling MSXML 4, same result. I've tried downloading and manually installing this update, which gives: An error occured during the installation of assembly component {DF935623-B7DF-B3BF-A06B-D6B9ABF34537). HRESULT: 0X8007371B. Hi, I connected a 1tb HDD to my server running Windows Home Server 2011. The drive installs but no drive letter is assigned. I use the fdisk, disk management program to assign a drive letter and the drive appears in My Computer and behaves as normal it is formatted and can read and write data as usual. However this drive does not appear in Dashboard - Hard Drives Tab and I am unable to therefore create any server Folders for it. If add a different HDD, it shows up in the dashboard immediately. This 1tb drive was taken from a NAS but has since been formatted. can anyone help? View this thread

I have windows 7 pro version and my PC says there are 29 updates to be installed, it goes through its process but every time my PC reboots it says failure to install updates, reverting changes. I am now at 42 updates to be installed so something is not right. any ideas? I have recently installed windows 8 and noticed that I hadn't had any free discspace left. After installing windows 8 I had about 40 GB's left. I found out dat the windows edb file was nearly 40 GB's. I read that it has to do with indexing and that you can shut it down. However it doesn't seem the same in windows 7. I can shut ik down for 15 minutes and also change its location. I did this but now the file is still increasing on my other harddisk. Does anyone has the same problem and kwows a structural solution?
