I can attach Word documents only from my files. When I try to attach a pdf or Excel document the screen tells me that the document is not in the file but I know it is because I put it there and can see it on my desktop. Does anyone have a clue what I can do about it? Ian View the full article

Recently I upgrade PC from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8 Pro. For the most part everything went well with the upgrade with some minor tweaks or upgrades to apps. I am having an issue with Libraries though. I have a share on my Server (Windows 2008 R2) which has Windows Search installed and indexing the shared folder location. On the windows 8 workstation I opened Explorer and when to libraries &gt Videos and then click on the Manage Tab. Selected Manage Library which brought up the Video Library Locations window. The Default save path is shown as well as the Public one. There is one other shown there but listed as unsupported. It is an old UNC path from years ago. I attempted to remove it. In the videos library locations window the path is removed. I hit Ok and it takes me back to explorer and the path still shows up there. If I click on Manage Library again to bring up the Video Library Locations window the unsupported path shows up again. I tried to ignore it and add the new library going through the steps to add it. Shows up in the library locations list but when I hit Ok it doesn't show up in explorer. Its as if when I hit Ok the settings are not saving. Wirrel View the full article

Have the one disk only that came with laptop (Dell Inspiron 1545) labeled &quotDrivers and Utilities already installed on your PC). I believe it may contain windows reinstall files but am unsure. When I load disk and boot up PC, no appropriate commands show re: reinstall. View this thread

My system is a Windows 7 64-bit Windows Home Premium desktop. I had 16 updates to install and on the 12th, it hung up. It was trying to install an update related to the malicious software tool. It was stuck at 68% complete for hours. I hit the button to cancel the update, but that did nothing. So, I clicked on Start=&gtShutdown and it said installing update 12 of 16 please don't turn off computer. That sat for a couple of hours and got nowhere so I held down the power button to shut it down. That was Thursday. Today I turned on the computer and booted it into Safe mode. It said that the Windows Update had failed and it was reverting. After a few minutes it said was shutting down and it did an restarted this time in regular mode on it's own. Again go the reverting message and then it came up successfully. I am assuming it must have automatically restored my computer to the last restore point. So, far everything seems to be working OK. My question is, how do I proceed from here? How do I go about getting these updates installed? I know that I've read that sometimes this happens because the updates try to load out of sequence and there is a prerequisite update that needs done. Do I try installing one at a time? Should I try installing everything but the malicious software tool update, reboot, then try to install that? View this thread

However, I'm finding it hard to figure out how to organize them. If I have a series of TV shows, is there a way to keep them together and organized rather than spread out in alpha order? Hi I'm having a problem where every time I shut my computer down, it says installing update 1 of 1 but it fails to install. My operating system is XP. I've checked replies to similar questions but nothing's worked. I found the number for the update that wouldn't install, (KB2742597) ran the fixit and then went to the Download centre to install it manually. It started to install but after a few seconds this message appeared: The feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. always fails error BC2 I have used fix it and it installs but then it comes back to install and fails again. also the pc crashes every now and again more often than not now. blue screen etc i have run a memory diagnostic and no memory problems. i go back to restore in safe mode and that works for a while and then it happens again. have installed pc health boost to fix errors and that helped for a while am up and running again, do not know how long it will run this time.help. i have acer aspire x1300 bought in 2009 View this thread

OK, I have a major security concern with Outlook 2013. My wife and I have a Windows 8 computer set up in the family room. I just installed the new Office 2013 and configured my wife's Outlook (she's an Outlook addict). After playing with Office for a few days, I decided to test drive the new Outlook for myself. Now keep in mind, my wife and I have separate profiles under Windows 8. I just can't stand how she organizers her icons. When I try to start up Outlook I am greeted by her email box. Then I went back and looked at my installation of Word and Excel and realized that I can see all of her recently used files. This was never this way in the past. Did something happen during my setup?
