I'm trying to install the update KB2753842, however, when I do I get the error code 80073712. This is of course on an installation of Windows 8 Enterprise. Windows 8 has been kicking some new error at me the last few days. its says it has 4 patches and they are from microsoft update online. we are not useing WSUS for now. When I run update it errors out give me this error code C000000D trying to run the troubleshooter also fails with this error package id:Windows update diagnostic Path: unknown Error Code: 0x80070057 source: Engine User: (mydomainmyusername) context: restricted any ideas? I just downloaded and installed the automatic windows updates tonight and after I restarted my computer, the language bar that is normally visible on the start screen and the desktop is gone. I know how to switch between languages using left alt + shift but that is not practical and is only necessary now because after updating the option to switch was removed. This is the second time this has happened after downloading the automatic windows updates and is very frustrating. I use two languages on my computer and it seems that updating windows is causing problems with this feature. I cannot see the language bar on the main screen with all my tiles under options where I go to log out or shut off the computer nor on the main desktop. It is, however, there when I log onto my computer and must give my user password, there I see the option to switch but that is the only location. It was there before the update and now it is gone and no matter what I do I cannot seem to restore this feature. On my computer are the language packages for English and German and the main components of my computer are in German. I tried searching for an answer to this problem but cannot find it anywhere. Today I received a Windows Error message stating that my Windows 7 was not genuine, for Christmas I got a new PC Case but wrote down all the OEM Stickers information in various places. When I attempt to re-activate the version of windows I get the error message '0xc004f050'. Are there any solutions to this problem? I am really frustrated right now... My new HP Pavilion g6 laptop starting updating windows 8 this morning around 10 am eastern time. It was stuck at 15% and 16% for long periods of time but eventually got to 30%. After that, the progress disappeared and now I have a blank screen with a cursor and the loading icon spinning on the left of the screen. There is no progress to be seen, but the loading icon is still spinning, and has been spinning for hours. Is this normal? What's going on? View this thread

Hi MS Communards, I am running MS Vista HP 32bit SP2 and have MSSE Antimalware version 4.1.522.0 Engine version 1.1.9103.0 running without incident. I have Windows update running and receive regular updates of virus definitions. I also run Malwarebytes with no interferences that I can detect, in fact MBAM recommends MSSE. My question is does Windows Updater also update the MSSE software? I ask this because I read a review of MSSE recently (Which Computing Feb 2013 p50 [www.which.co.uk] ) and it stated that MSSE had the following facilities in addition to its anti malware function. Parental Controls, Backup and Tune up. As I cannot locate these functions in my current MSSE I wonder if I have the latest version. It could be that these missing functions are only offered on Windows 7 or 8 or the 64bit versions in which case I am not worried. As long as I am up to date with the program for my system then I will be happy. Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer help. John View this thread
