I have started receiving pop ups, everytime I open hotmail and ongoing once hotmail is open. It looks like messenger although I havent opened messenger and everytime I click report as spam but they keep coming. How do I stop them? View this thread

After install - restart, shut down, hibernate, sleep would all cause the computer to crash, hard restart required. All attempts to restore from any previous points failed. Took hours of hang ups and restarts to access Windows Update history, or any other Windows Update apps, pages. After uninstall of package all is fine again. View this thread

I recently bough an Asus VivoTab Smart running windows 8 and everything was fine up until today when at some point the touch keyboard stopped disappearing whenever i needed to log in to the tablet! its annoying to have to find the on-screen keyboard and i would like to have the touch keyboard back. I have tried restarting many times and that does nothing, i have tried updating the driver but i cant as it says that it already has the driver up to date and that its running properly! Cannot install windows the following updates on computer with win 7 32 bit. My email account had been hacked so I changed the password. Now that the password is changed my Microsoft app wont show any messages in my email. Ive had to go online to access my email and I liked it in the mail app. Anyone know how to update my password or delete and reload this account? also, wondering if the touch pad allows a scrolling option on the side?? It seems to be common knowledge (and hundreds of forum posts) that Windows 8 will not create automatic restore points - particularly prior to update installation. Is anyone at MS actively working on this issue or do we have the typical MS stonewall because either no one is paying attention or more probably because they do not know how to fix it? My solution for now is to recommend that nobody set their machine for automatic update installation but this is indeed a sorry state of affairs. View the full article

I am not interested in the 'Bing Desktop' in Windows Update I say hide but it never goes away and everytime I go back to update it says there is an optional update available, Bing! why can't I get rid of it like any other unwanted update?My update settings are: 'check for updates and allow me to choose....'Any ideas on how to stop being annoyed by this? I got windows 8 a few days ago and I'm trying to get all the past updates downloaded. However, the same 4 updates get to the point where it restarts and I get the message: "Error configuring updates, reverting changes". When the computer comes back up, windows update shows those updates failed with error code 80070005. Its done this 6 times. Those updates are: KB2779768 (ran through install in less than 5 seconds, then failed, no reboot new error code 80246007) KB2785094 (ran through install in less than 5 seconds, then failed, no reboot new error code 80246007) KB2770917 (ran through install in less than 5 seconds, then failed, no reboot new error code 80246007) KB2756872 (failed as before) Any ideas? Restored computer to factory settings. Trying to update Vista. Service pack 1 downloaded and installed multiple times. Window update manager continues to say that SP1 needs to be installed. Updated Office 2010 to 2013. It stated I had a conflicting program. I uninstalled the program (don't remember what it was) and updated Office 2013 (64 bit) and now when I launch any Office software or access the internet through my FireFox browser it gives me the error: pagefault_in_nonpaged_area (win32k.sys) and automatically reboots my computer. Did all the hardware tests, everything is working. It seems to be a software conflict. Any ideas how I can fix this problem? View the thread
