Hi every one, I got a strange behivior from my windows 8 instalation it seams that it is being missrendered , and everytime i reboot that stays a picture might help it seams that aa is on but at the same time the rest is compleatly un readeable it has append after a batch update i did today but with some tool from my nvidia drivers i see that it is my cg that does that , so where is the path for the setting so i can disable the nvidia and have the intel hd instead ? This update came out 4-5-12. Each time I start my computer Windows offers to install it again. It has been successfully installed over 50 times, but Windows keeps offering it. I have gone to FIXit to get this to stop, but it continues. Any ideas? View this thread

Windows 8 spell checker not working, I’ve tried several techniques to get it to work. None worked. I would like to get this feature working again. I tried several ways, my auto features are on in Blue desktop. I’ve done a integrity check, all is ok, still not working, tried an IE reset, disabled all none ms startups, one thing did work was creating a new account that hardly constitutes as a fix. Beginning on 29-Jan-13, my Microsoft-brand USB wired mouse has begun to misbehave after the computer wakes. Essentially, mouse behavior is erratic and uncontrollable unless I pull and re-insert the USB connection. Could this be caused by any critical updates installed on or around 29-Jan-13? I have Windows 7 SP1 and am having issues with Windows Defender and MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials). I recently thought about changing my anti-virus software from MSE to something else but after uninstalling MSE, I decided against switching to another product. Before I reinstalled MSE, I noticed that Windows Defender was re-enabled and Windows Update offered definition updates (under "Important") and MSE was under "optional". I chose to get MSE and began the installation process. After it finished installing, I allowed it to get the definition updates and run a scan on my PC. Shortly after this, I rebooted my PC and when I got to my desktop again I had a Windows Update notification that had a Windows Defender definition update under "Important" still. I was confused by this since my understanding was that when MSE or any other anti-virus program is installed, Windows Defender will automatically disable itself and thus I wouldn't be seeing any definition updates for it after having MSE reinstalled. I chose to "hide" the update and figured that would be the end of it. But I was wrong, a few minutes later another Windows Defender definition update was in Windows Update under "important" but this one had a date older than the one I had hidden. I also chose to hide this. I did this several times and gave up eventually after realizing that this most likely will go back until 2010 (when I last updated Windows Defender). Not wanting to deal with hiding all these updates from the past and most likely new ones that would appear the next time Windows Defender had a new update, I decided to uninstall MSE again try getting the updates through Windows Defender. I went to check out Windows Defender and noticed that I am not able to click on "Scan", "History", or "Tools" and I also saw a message on the program's main screen that says: "A problem caused this program's service to stop. To start the service, click the Start now button or restart your computer." When I clicked Start now, it gave a message saying that it timed out trying to start the service and restarting the computer resulted in no changes (other than the Windows Defender updates failing). I gave up and reinstalled MSE, once again got the updates, and ran a scan (made sure that Real-time protection was still enabled for MSE also). This is my current situation now I have MSE but am still getting notifications daily about Windows Defender definition updates. I tried to use the fix windows update feature under system and security in the troubleshooter (in control panel) and it said it fixed windows update errors but I'm still having the same issue and noticed no changes. I entered the wrong email address and I have since set up another one but the old one continues to be the one used for signin and then of course the password doesn't work with it and I can't connect to anything because it is an invalid email address. I have looked at other entries describing this but none of the suggestions work. When I try to Switch to Microsoft Account all I get is my account with the wrong email address. Whenever I am making a Skype call the sound from the call comes out of my external speakers, while all other computer sounds are coming from the laptop speakers. I have tried reinstalling the drivers, changing communications devices, sound settings, the communications tab, skype settings, and can't find the source of the problem. Question regarding Outlook 2013: So I recently upgraded to Exchange 2010 from 2003. Virtually all user mailboxes are sitting on an exchange 2010 box post migration from 2003 SP1. I'm running 2013 outlook on my person computer, testing it. I wanted to add some users view some user mailboxes from my client. Went to File > Account Settings > Clicked Change on the account > More Settings > Advanced Tab > Added user (Exchange 2010 mailbox) clicked OK then Next and Finish. Went to view mail and I get this error: The Set of Folders cannot be opened. Your microsoft exchange administrator has blocked the version of Outlook that you are using. So, I went into Management console and did a Get-RpcClientAccess -Server (Server Name) and it shows nothing under BlockedClientVersions. So nothing is blocked there. I also gave my user account full access to the other mailbox in question, so there's no permission issues here. I have also successfully done this from an Outlook 2010 client. So was this function done away with in Office/exchange 2013? That's not good if this function gone. Anyone have any ideas? View this thread

I have a Canon MP495 copier scanner. My PC is a Dell Optiplex 780 with windows fax software. I am on ATT Uverse wireless system for my internet.What else do I need to be able to fax online? Hi All :I have Windows XP with automatic updates on. Whenever I shut my computer down, automatic updates tries to install the updates but apparently isn't able to because it tries every day. A second problem is the yellow shield comes up on the tool bar when I'm on the computer and it looks like the automatic updates are installing but the yellow shield comes back. Since installing Win 8 on my laptop 3 months ago I have only been able to use my PC twice thanks to automatic updates. As updates had worked fine on previous versions of Windows I allowed them on this install, unfortunately my laptop has never completed boot since. After powering on all I get is the spinning activity symbol (which happily keeps spinning) and the message- Keep your PC plugged in until this is done. Installing update 1 of 6. This didn't surprise me at first but after an hour on the first attempt I started looking about for help, no joy, all solutions required actually being able to use the machine. To date the record is 10 hours before I've had to give up and no joy from support. I can't even revert back to 7 as the machine will not allow repair to run. This is last chance saloon before I just put a new drive in it and install 7 from scratch. View this thread
