I have an Exchange Online account. For 4 bucks a month it's a pretty good deal. It is reliable and just like the article says give quick access to your email from different devices.

Windows Built-in PDF Reader Exposes Edge Browser to Hacking
AWS replied to starbuck's topic in Tech Help and Discussions
It's almost as if PDF files no matter what viewer being used are vulnerable. This doesn't surprise me at all. -
I've seen this. I could see where it could fool some people.

It's hard to estimate how long it will take. While most computers that can run Windows 7 will run Windows 10 there still still could be some driver issues to work through. Another issue could be the software the company uses. If there are issues to work through with software then more time will be needed. In a perfect world I would say it would take about an hour per computer.

Thanks. Still more work to do. We are getting more people visiting the site then ever before and they are staying on the site for long periods of time reading the threads. They need to sign up and start posting. I am sure that will happen. Trick was to get traffic up and keep them reading. Natural progression is for them to start signing. up.

The Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening Thread

It gets cold here where I live too. Had the power go off a couple years ago when we had -25 actual temp with wind chill of -40. Had to turn on all the faucets to make sure pipes didn't freeze and burned candles in one room for heat and we all stayed in that room. Temp in house just before the power came back on was 34. -
I'd like to know too. I've see mention of this before yet no one seems to know what it is or how it works.

Five One Page Windows Store Apps to Check Out
AWS replied to allheart55 Cindy E's topic in Tech Help and Discussions
There has never been a bigger Windows guy then me. I was a beta tester since Windows 3.1. I am a Microsoft partner, have several Microsoft certifications and was a Visual Basic and Windows MVP for a number of years. I bled Microsoft blue. I got jaded when they crippled the Windows 7 beta and only gave us 2 builds. We used to get nightly builds if we wanted them in previous betas. Luckily being a partner I had access to nightly builds. When Windows 8 came out I was one that actually took to it right away. It was a needed change. Then came Windows 10. There is just something that sets wrong with me. I don't know what exactly. It's a combination of things. Finding different settings is a pain. Everything is different about it. The constant updates. I was able to fix that after the beta by removing myself from the fast ring. Updating is slow and time consuming. It's like it installs a new version each time. Even on slow ring it seems to update every couple weeks. There is more, but, that about sums up my full time switch to OSX. I had always used OSX, but, really never seen a scenario were I would use it full time. Up until Windows 10 that is. OSX just works unlike my experience with Windows 10.- 3 replies

Five One Page Windows Store Apps to Check Out
AWS replied to allheart55 Cindy E's topic in Tech Help and Discussions
The remote desktop app is nice, but, it has bugs. If you try to transfer a large file it will shutdown. No warnings just shuts off. I am running the beta version on OSX which is the same as this one. Strangely enough it doesn't have the large file transfer bug like the Windows counterpart. In fact it is fairly stable and works much better than the stable version for OSX.- 3 replies

Good morning everyone. It's Thursday and the snow stayed to the south of me yesterday so that makes today a good day.

I believe Forbes doesn't even let you see the content if you have an ad blocker enabled. I thought I read that somewhere. I was wrong it isn't Forbes. I know it was a news site. I don't remember which one it was.

Thanks Dougie. I'll check them out. I have a 950 512Gig. It's still in the box. I picked it up on sale a couple weeks ago. I am going to put it in the new server that I'm getting ready to build.

My Mac Pro has a pci ssd. I don't know the model. More than likely Intel. It is fast as heck. If I could find a decent benchmark utility I'd run a test on it.

After doing a Google search there was one in 1979 also. I don't remember that one because I was married with family and had a Ford Escort wagon as the family car. That thing would run forever on a tank of gas so I wouldn't remember being rationed.

I remember it happened in 1973. I don't remember any from 1979. I had a 68 Mustang Cobra and I could only buy 5 gallons at a time. Needless to say that 5 gallons didn't last for the whole night so my cruising was affected terribly. As was my Saturday trip to the drag strip. I combated it by buying my first Harley. Price per gallon before then was 36 cents for premium 100 octane racing fuel, regular was 28 cents. After racing fuel went to 70 cents and regular 65 cents.

You probably get them and just never answered them. Any phone number that I don't recognize gets blocked. I've been doing this for a while. I used to get 3 or 4 a day. Now I might get 1 every week or so.

This happened here a couple years ago. I was on my way home from work. I didn't need gas, had about 1/4 left. I seen a line at a Gas City station I stop at to pick up a coke for on the way home. I got a coke and on my way out had to wait in line to get out of the lot. When I got to the pump I saw the price was 89 cents a gallon. This was when prices were hovering near $4.00 per gallon. I filled up. The next day as usual the station was empty. I pulled in for my coke and asked the clerk why the price was so low for gas yesterday. She told me it was a nationwide computer glitch that lasted for the whole day before someone caught it. I wanted to ask how much they lost that day. Last week gas here was the lowest it's been in probably 15 years. It averaged $1.15 per gallon. Now it's back up to $1.40.

I use Samsung drives. Have for years. Even the spinners were more reliable and had faster reds/writes than the rest. Doesn't surprise me at all that Samsung outperforms Intel.
