Windows 7 was installed on my system some time ago, then &quotknowledgeable&quot teenage granddaughter came along and installed Windows 3. I am having more and more problems now accessing documents. I had converted all documents over to Windows 7, but it appears the system is going through both programs before I reach the document needed. Hi there, I need some help with a nasty and potentially dangerous toolbar that self-installed when I downloaded a freeware program. It is called the mixi.dj toolbar and it hijacked my default Google Chrome browser. I tried everything to get rid of this nasty demon, but nothing seems to work. I have not used this toolbar and as soon as it shows up, I open up another tab which brings me to Google. Any help would be very much appreciated. View this thread

I have a laptop hp pavilion dm4-1253cl Entertainment PC. Everytime my computer starts up it has an error and i have to force it to shutdown because it would wait for hours to a program to close. So im going to reset my computer to when i first got it but have no clue how. I am moving my things to flashdrives now. How do i find out if i have that restore option in my computer or if need the disk? I also read the you need the software for my other devices. Does the software for the fingerprint scanner thats built in to my laptop go with the cd if i need it? Thanks! View the thread

My husband has died and I'm trying to use his PC because it is newer than mine. He had a windows password and I can't figure it out. WHS will not boot after the inital instalation. it has formatated and intalled the setup files on the hd but will not restart to finish the instalation. It just wants to boot from CD. if i take out the cd at the boot sequence, i get the &quotboot disk failure&quot View this thread

I was able to install Office 2013 Pro Plus x86 (Home Use Program) on my Win 7 x64 system using the CD and the HUP product key. (CTR stopped at 94%, but Word, etc, ran fine after a restart.) I restarted, disabled my Sophos A-V, and tried to install Visio 2013 HUP from the downloaded installer. The install failed, and Office apps could no longer be opened. I tried a Quick Repair (hung on "Working on it") and Online Repair (hung on step 2 of 4). I then ran the Office 2013 uninstaller FixIt and followed the manual uninstall procedures as well (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en-us). I restarted and tried to install Office 2013 again from the CD. The install hangs on "Hold on, this should only take a moment", brings up a "We couldn't install Office" dialog, and asks to Retry or Cancel. Retry results in the same screen, Cancel leaves the "Hold on" window up until I kill Office 2013 from task manager. How do I clean up whatever the Visio 2013 installer did so I can install Office 2013 successfully from the CD? View this thread

We want to use Telemetry database to collect information in preparation of an Office 2003 to 2013 migration. The fact is that almost all applications are virtualized with App-V, also the applications with Office plugins. Can we use Telemetry Database in this situation? MSE install gives error code 0X8004FF56, computer runs Vista Home Basic 32 bit, have tried clearing all but MS services running and start up menu, nothing enables install of MSE, followed all steps at http://www.microsoft.com/mk-mk/security_essentials/Support/cf5220bd-3da8-4694-ac42-f5396ef5ff0b.aspx I had MSE running but it wouldn't do the program software update being pushed by the Auto Update program. Kept getting same error as above, removed MSE from computer, had to use 3rd party software removal tool as Control Panel - Uninstall Software resulted in same error code as above. Trying to install MSE from scratch. There are no anti-virus programs on my PC that I can find.what must i do? View this thread

Tried to install Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista (KB2809289) and it failed several times. Error details: Code 8E5E03FA. Tried to disable firewall and antivirus, didn't help, also tried to download the update and install it in safe mode, didn't help as well. Tried to run Microsoft Fix It, no luck either.
