Install of SQL Server 2012 SP1 failing. Google does not know this code. Microsoft does not know this code. How am I supposed to know what it means? Pointers welcome. Thanks, Peter View this thread

When I am running Microsoft Security Essentials with realtime checking turned on,, I get a slight lag in performance in Word 2007. That is, when type fast and move blocks of text rapidly, the program stops working and shows me the hourglass wait icon for a half second or a second. If I disable Microsoft Security Essentials the lag goes away. I have added the Word program winword.exe to the Microsoft Security Exxentials excluded processes and I added the directory of my documents to the excluded locations, but I still get the lag.I am running Windows 7, 64-bit version. Now I know alot of people posted something about this topic but no real answers have been given.Mobo : MSI z77a-g43Sound : Realtek Latest Driver 6.0.1.6823 from 1/13/2013Similar issues with the rest of the people. 5.1 surround sound speakers but only front work rears wont work unless you Check "Speaker Fill"but even than its pretty bad, bad sound quality coming from the rear.I checked the output and inputs for the audio is OK.Windows Sound setting i configured the speakers to 5.1 Surround and tested every individual speakers/sub works.I checked for the latest drive yes i do have the latest drive.I made sure all the volume is at 100 percent under Sound Levels, even the rear gray rear black etc. everything balanced.Even messed with the enhancements and everything nothing. Now heres the catch, on Youtube all my speakers work, On certain application it goes back to basically a 2.1 speakers. With that said I unchecked the give certain application control of the device thing. Nothing changed.Checked windows update hoping they'd have something for this issue but nothing related.So is this Windows 7 or Realtek problem?. I just bought these speakers hoping for a full 5.1 surround sound with all applications, just very frustrated i spent 100 bucks on something that wont work properly. Windows Update icon on Task bar says "New Updates Available." When I click nothing happens. I click on Windows Update under Programs, no response. Tried the "Fix It" and "search for troubleshooting" cannot use Win Key + Pause Break. don't know what Service Pack I have. I am using Windows 7 on a HP Laptop (about 3 years old) I have tried a system restore. I did uninstall some programs - but I am pretty careful. Tried to turn on Real Time Protection in Microsoft Security Essentials because message said Real time Protection was turned off because Time Out period has expired. I did not turn it off. Now cannot turn it on. Windows XP sp3. View this thread

Dear Community, i have a problem with the automatic updates. are days that eveytime i shut down my laptop starts automatically the updates of 14 updates, it takes around 3 minutes to orm the 14 tasks, and than the laptop shut down. Everything semas fine until now, but in fact the updates are not beign installed.... the next day it will make the same process again and again. I have now also other updates failing, like Skype, Adobe Air, Flash Player, the ult is always that i can't delete the previous version of the programs and to contact the Administrator...... but i'm the administrator of the Laptop...... I tried to clone a Windows XP install from a DELL laptop which is nearly dead from old age into a Virtual Machine on my new Windows 8 computer. Windows 8 will not run some software I need and have used for years on the old laptop. The install seemed to work until I sign in on the virtual machine. Then a window pops up saying I have to Activate the Windows install. I tried using the activation code I got from Dell but Windows does not recognize it so I went to the phone and Windows system does not recognize the code my install presents. Is there any way I can get this install activated? I am not going to update my old software and I want to use this virtual machine to run older software that is not compatible with Windows 8. It appears Microsoft is not selling XP any longer. I do have a Windows XP disk that is not OEM from way back before SP2 came out but I want to keep all my software from the recent install without having to re-install some 20 or 30 programs. Received Windows Update install error 57A when running Update and installing KB2687503 and KB2767886 Updates. Downloaded and attempted install manually with similar install failure. Followed all suggestions on help forums and using Windows Update problem solver on Microsoft web site. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. All other updates seem to install without issue. Windows 8 crashes all the time. It only stay up when I have bejeweled blitz on in Facebook. As soon as I leave that page and leave the computer for more than 5 min I came back to a blue screen crash. I have tried the following so far. 1. Windows refresh 2. Run in debug mode 3. Uninstalled everything except windows aps 4. Turned off tick 5. Check and ran aps in older version of windows. 6. Hello, I have been enjoying this word game for a long time on my XP Home/SP3 machine with no problems. Now I have a new pc with Win7 Home Premium/64 bit to which I wish to move all my programs on the XP pc. I tried installing it but failed. These are the steps I have tried: I manually set XP/SP3 compatibility mode and tried to install - fail I manually set XP/SP2 compatibility mode and tried to install - fail I tried using the compatibility wizard - also fail In each case the final result was "incompatible program". I searched the Answers site for compatibility issues and learned about the VPC/XP Compatibility Mode solution, but I cannot use it: my hardware supports it, but my OpSys does not. The game manufacturer has a new version (Ver 1.13) and I installed the trial version to see if it works - it does. The differences between the version I have and the new one are relatively minor as far as I could see, so am loathe to fork over $$$ for a program I already have. Is there a solution to my problem? I downloaded a program called (Flash Boot and EBCD Articles ) While I was trying to reinstall BOOTMRG. I cooed not get the information off the Recovery Disk's.
