Windows Update Failed Code 800401E4 Windows 7, 64-bit, Avast Anti Virus, have Service Pack 1 (I can give more information if requested) -All of the updates won't install (I can list all the 'kb's if necessary, but none of them will execute) -This solution does not work: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 , specifically Step 3 -"Mr. Fix It" does not work - it doesn't execute -I've also noticed problems, maybe unrelated, like being unable to open picture files in PhotoViewer (the .dll is not a Win32 Application)... I also can't change the default viewer - It won't let me hit 'ok' to confirm the change! This could be unrelated, but I thought worth mentioning Any suggestions on how to fix this error? Have Microsoft Office. Have been using microsoft security essentials for years. It is the only security program I have on my computer and I do weekly scans. The most recent update could not download. After starting my computer today the security essentials program would not start and I could not start it manually. I get the error message 0x800 106ba. Please advise View this thread

Just so you know what we are trying to do: We want to set Outlook so that when you send as, it will save the sent item in the person's mailbox that you sent the email as. So I have 2 questions: 1) I remember something about loading in the ADM group policy templates for Outlook 2010 and using the template to set this option. I can't seem to find the option that corresponds to this registry key (And there are some other options we set now that in the GP results show as registry edits) 2) Is this registry key still working in Outlook 2013? Hello.I've just installed Windows 7 Professional on a 0x86 machine for testing purposes. However after DVD install Windows appeared to install many updates. Once done I noticed that there are no entries in the list of Installed Updates that includes Microsoft .NET Framework. Can anyone tell me why Windows did not install these packages ? I've run Check for Updates from the Control Panel and it says there are no available updates.Do I have to manually install the .NET Framework packages ?Thanks in advanceVictor View this thread

Recieved a call from Protect MyPC 247 (806-553-6536) telling me my computer was 50% under control by hackers. At first the led me to beleive the were affiliated with Windows but after talking with the third person (I could not understand any of them because of heavy accents) I was able to get company and a call back num ber. The connection was very poor and asked where they located...they would not answer. I finally asked if they were with Windows/Microsoft and the 3rd guy said...That is a very large company and they would never call to let you know you are having issues (or something like that). I hung up and called the number back and got a poor connection and couldn't understand. Who are these guys? View this thread

Hi, I have set up a not-for-profit organization for my Army's unit alumni, which can be found at www.401alumni.org (hosted by weebly). I am trying to set up a domain ending for my email account, that is - xxx@401alumni.org instead of xxx@outlook.com. I signed in here - https://domains.live.com/default.aspx and then was asked to fill in my domain. After this I get this message - "This domain name can't be used because it contains a protected word or inappropriate language. Please contact support if you feel this is not the case" I have purchased this domain fair and square, no trade marks involved. have a genuine copy of windows that use to be installed on the computer that i am trying to re install it on. Other people tried to fix the crash that i created, 4 years ago, i have the 6 boot setup disk i created back when at some point for the same copy that i have installed on different hard drives in the same computer. I am pretty sheer i have one more time that this copy i have can be installed one more time that i remember. file dac2w2k.sys msg keeps coming up no matter what i try. Guess i need to know if hard drive can be used or how to find out if its bad, I used sea tools disk wizard on it several times with no fix but have not tryed dynamic overlay feature. I'm a bit computer literate hope someone can help me because i have not been able to figure it out. View this thread

I have unstable wireless network. It goes up and down, very often it says that there is no internet connection.I'm one meter away from the router, I don't have any devices that would interupt my wireless network. I have also tried disabling my wirewall and scanning my computer for viruses (none were found).I have another computer with wired network and it works perfectly. I'm using D-Link router (DIR - 615).
