s there a fix for > event error 3; Session "Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stopped due to the follo
I have found this > Delete the EppOobe.etl File (Reference Path) C:ProgramDataMicrosoftMicrosoft Security ClientSupportEppOobe.etl. Found this in "answers" > Stephen Boots replied on June 18, 2012 "Post your concerns to the Discussion area on Connect for the pre-release program you signed up for -- not here." "Security Essentials Prerelease Version: 4.0.1540.0" I have never had a prerelease version installed on this machine. I did find in the above path a "EppOobe.etl File" Do I need to delete it? My version of MSE is 4.2.223.1. I find from my searches that this issue has been around for a while and if the file is deleted it just comes back. The only other advise i find is to just ignore it. This error shows every single time machine is started and is hard to ignore. If there is no fix why should it show up in event viewier? Why does EV show anything that there is not a cure for? I find ignore EV. Why is there even an EV in the software? Is there a way to disable EV so one will not have to ignore? Maybe a box to mark "ingore". Has a fix for this been found as to this date? scare0340 View this thread

Office 2013 Home&Business not click-to-run
i recently purchased a workstation from Dell with office 2013 home & business. The office installation came with click-to-run system, i don't want this i want msi based setup. I've tried to download via office.com/getoffice but Unfortunately I cannot download the msi-based setup via the "Alternative Fulfilment Page", because I did not buy Office within the Microsoft Store and therefore my license does not show up in the suggested page. I need to do a custom installation, with a iso file or whatever, i've searched for days to find a way to resolve this, but nothing. What should i do?Can someone help me? Thanks in advance. fedebt View this thread

Aggiornamenti inibiti in window7
Ho riavviato varie volte, senza esito. Ho provato con Cambio Impostazioni e quant’ altro… niente. E’ un problema grosso? E’ facile da risolvere? Potete aiutarmi? Grazie mille da subito View this thread

How do I assign a drive letter to a partition from command prompt in Server 2008 foundation ...
... or change the place AD looks for edb.log? I can't start my server 2008 foundation because AD can't access adb.log etc on virtual drive D, which I deleted to extend the partition used as C: so I could install SQL Server 2012. Short history - Physical drive partitioned in to C and D: with C the OS drive, and D labelled as DATAPART. C too small, so copied everything off D to another physical drive in server, deleted the DATAPART partition assigned as D:, and extended the OS/C: partition, Server won't restart as it can't find edb.log on D:, Now I can only get to a command prompt. To make it worse, this reassigns the drives as C: - RECOVERY and the OS drive as D, (formerly C), and I can't see how use DISKPART to assign a drive letter to the extended partition on the OS volume, and make it persist. Using DISKPART I tried to re assign the other physical disk, (G) as D, so it would appear correctly at restart, but it seems DISKPART is only valid for the current session, and at restart the original settings were restored., so D: went back to being G: I've also tried creating an autoexec.bat file with SUBST G:D_DRIVE D: but I guess autoexec is obsolete now, because it didn't work. The alternative is to change the location that AD looks for the edb.log, but with only a command prompt, I guess that's tricky. Any help in plain English greatly appreciated - I'm a SQL Server developer. and not a hardware builder! View the thread

Outlook 2013 new mail tray icon is not showing
The icon used to show, but now it disappeared. I have it enabled in the settings and when right clicking the outlook tray icon it is enabled as well. I've seen from my searches that it's not showing on IMAP accounts, but my account is POP, and the icon was showing at first. Starting outlook in safe mode restores the icon, but I don't think I can ever get used to working with safe mode. Any ideas how to fix this? View this thread

Stop windows defender updates
Surely Im not the only person with this problem.... How do I stop windows defender updates (that vast numbers of people don't want or need) whilst keeping the standard updates? Using Windows 7, I've turned off Windows Defender since I prefer an alternative security software package. Updates are set to notify before download - since I rightly don't want MS sticking whatever they want on my machine without asking. Problem is, every day now there seems to be large Defender update that slows and stalls my machine whilst the notification loads. I then have to go through the daily routine of opening updates, unchecking the defender box, right click and hide and okay it in order to get rid of this bug. Every single day. Please tell me there is a way around this... Thanks View this thread
