The April 9, 2013 updates cause a Event ID 55 and nfts error on both VM servers and regular workstations. In addition the KB2823324 update causes the license for Kaspersky antivirus not to be reconized and shuts down Kaspersky. Any ideas on what is going on? Thanks Jim View this thread

After the updates a copy of my excel.exe program file was taken with the suffix .bak I tried to run Excel by double clicking on the icon but nothing happened. I suspect the problem is fix KB2813170. I am running the cheapest version of Microsoft Office 2013 which I think is called student and home. It is the English US version. Word does not run either. View this thread

I HAD Kaspersky Pure Security Suite installed on my computer until a few days ago when it allowed malware through. They would help me get rid of the MANY programs, files, worms, and many other etc.'s coming through SO I took four days (without ANY sleep) and removed everything myself after uninstalling the program. I installed Security Essentials and the FIRST two times I ran it in Full mode everything was fine. It caught bugs and malware. I did just a BIT of tweeking of my computer today (i.e.: I downloaded a pop-up blocker as I just could not get rid of them no matter WHAT browser I used). It was of no use. It didn't block anything. I unistalled it OBVIOUSLY. It's of no use. I also had to delete and wipe a bunch of other programs that snuck in even with Windows Security Suite. Probably rode in with the download (yes, one MUST read all that fine print... I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere within it when one clicks on &quotaccept&quot that somewhere in there you are agreeing to give up your first born). SO, I decided to run a full scan again starting about 14 hours ago. I keep restarting it and every single time it stops at C:windowsSystem32CoIntegritydriver.stl. BTW, I am NOT a programmer. I haven't even done anything with programming since 1989 and that was in the days of PC-DOS. Of course, Microsoft's founder was probably still sucking his thumb at that time. Then Microsoft bought PC-DOS from IBM and well, I gave up on programming then. Needless to say it wasn't easy for me to take this piece of **** apart and try to figure out what to do with it. When I say &quotpiece of ****&quot, I'm referring to the fact that this is SUPPOSED to be a custom built H.P. notebook that I paid $2,000.00 for direct from H.P. It's off the subject but I advise anyone withing reading distance NOT to trust H.P. to follow through on their promises as they WILL NOT be honored. This is NOT a professional, custom built notebook. Don't buy Kaspersky either. While it WAS a great program, it now has holes in it (all of them DO, but MOST major providers have service and support. Kaspersky DOESN'T. Anyway, not being a puter wiz, I don't have a clue why it keeps stopping right there or what that CoIntegritydriver.stl even is. I DO KNOW that Trojans USUALLY start with &quotSystem32&quot but then so do MANY other essential files SO I'm very apprehensive about manual deletion. PLEASE TELL WHAT TO DO!!! PLEASE!!!! Hi, I have the latest Norton 360 installed on my Windows 7 PC and now whenever I make a Google search my results are redirected to ads. I'm pretty sure it came with "Blekko" toolbar which came with another free program I downloaded. I have tried removing it from IE 10 and from control panel. I have completed full scans on Norton and nothing came up. I want to backup my files for safe keeping, but think I shouldn't since I'm having this problem, as it might be a virus? Should I be using it for banking or online shopping etc, just in case? How do I remove this (assuming its a virus of some sort)? Any help appreciated. - Jacob :) View this thread

Today's patch appears to have slowed down my Win7 Professional 64-bit system on top of that, IE10 and Chrome 27 now crash spontaneously even when idle, after an interval of 30-45 seconds after starting. (On a side note, these forums don't appear to work with Firefox, so I'm using Opera to post my problems.) Other applications, which appear to use some HTML interfaces in dialogs and presentations are similarly affected. I accepted an nVidia driver update from Windows Update and found out it was a rollback from the version I had installed (to 3.11 from 3.14) the Chrome crashes appeared to target an nVidia DLL, but since re-installing 3.14 the Chrome crashes remain although they aren't localized by the reporting in the Event Viewer. I saw that one of the patch items for this update had failed auto-installation and did the update manually--the issues started after that. It seems related to package KB2808735, and I'm going to try to do a rollback, but I wanted to get this posted before I tried that. View this thread

Dear Forum, I am facing an issue in regards to when I commence and update on a Windows 7 32 bit machine - one updates - including Internet Explorer - just recently it updated to version 9 to version 10. The other machine Windows 7 64 bit - stayed with Internet Explorer 9 - but updated some sectors of the program. I have noticed that you can go into programs and see the features of what becomes updated. Can someone please explain why and how Windows chooses what becomes updated? I have received 800B0100 and 8024200D errors several times during automatic updates, apparently for KB2604115, KB2729452, KB2742599, and KB2604115 (the update history doesn't seem to say which error was generated by which update, but all of these updates failed, and these are the two error codes I received).I tried all of the recommendations from help several times, including the System Update Readiness Tool and Fixit.I am using a brand new computer, with Windows 7 Professional SP1, 64-bit. The first or second time I turned it on, it installed about 171 updates.THE ANSWER IS NOT TO REINSTALL WINDOWS, BECAUSE I JUST INSTALLED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME, SO THERE IS NO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT I WOULD HAVE A DIFFERENT RESULT THIS TIME. I didn't do anything strange to the computer, or install anything unusual (mostly Microsoft Office and a few other standard programs).I saw that many people have had these same errors, and not gotten satisfactory answers in this forum (mostly it comes down to trying the tools I mentioned above that don't work, and reinstalling Windows or something similarly drastic). Basically it is what the question contains. I have tried the fixes that were pointed to solve the problem, but none of them really worked. Did try to run the Microsoft Fixit program, but it would not go. Also the Troubleshooting Pack Cabinet failed to get the Windows Update up and running. Even a command sequence provided by a fellow in the Microsoft Community I did try, but did not work again...I hope someone can feel it for me and my need for a good night sleep.Many thanksJuan V. HelloI am having trouble launching windows media player (product version 12.0.7601.17514) its as though it is just dead and nonfunctional, i dont know why as it has worked previously. My daughter tried to launch it earlier to play her cd and the following error message came up 'server execution failed'. Not sure what to do about it I've tried to apply the following fix but it hasnt worked:"Rename the WMP networking information folder ==================================== 1. Close Windows Media Player. 2. Click the Start Button, type "%userprofile%appdatalocalMicrosoftWindows Media" (without quotation marks) in the Search Box and press Enter. 3. In the open folder, right-click the folder 12.0 and choose Rename. Rename the folder to 12.0.bak. Register the WMP components ================== 1. we upgraded pc to windows 8 and install ms office 2010. when we configure outlook with exchange 2010 most of the users have no problems to connect . but some users always get error stating "Can not start Microsoft Outlook. Can not open the outlook windows". I tried all the possible procedures, i.e creating new profile, using resetnavpane, deleting and recreating exchange attributes, but these users always having this error. View this thread

I encountered the search-certified toolbar some time ago. I subsequently thought I had removed the item. Then when automatic updates presented at the taskbar it would hang without any dowload. I can access the web and the MS site, however, any attempt to go to downloads/update etc results with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". "It appears you are connected to the Internet, but you might want to try to reconnect to the Internet." Most likely causes: You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address. This message is common to both IE and Chrome. I am not sure whether a malware issue remains or an additional problem exists? I have Avast (free), SpybotSD and Malwarebytes installed. Avast and SSD simply scan weekly in the hope that they detect and remove threats. I have run HijackThis, however, when run the result was unremarkable. Following some web info I installed and run the following: HitmanPro adwcleaner and tdsskiller. Interestingly, some search-certified toolbar items were discovered by the above and removed? Prior to the abovementioned actions I followed a number of suggestions found within MS community regarding the failure of the update function. Again, without success.
