Vpn User Settings Error
Hi, I am trying to configure VPN access to my Window 2008 Server. I have managed to set server roles: -have installed IIS server with all security addons. -have installed Netowork Policy and Access role My problem is: When I go to Active directory user and computers, I open the user that I would like to allow access to VPN services. Then when I go to Dial-in tab I am getting this Error message (screenshots included): Could not load the Dial-in profile for this user because: The endpoint format is invalid. Then I click OK and another error shows up: Dial-in page initialization failed. I have been googling all over the internet. I have found some information regarding making sure that some keys in regedit have READ mode. All is ok. Also some people had some problems with Remote Registry service not started. All is ok on my server (started). Please help...

Cannot Connect Computer To The Domain...
Hi, Thank you for your reply. I see your point and it makes sense. It was logical to me that if: - My server has an external IP address and I could ping it from my laptop - dns settings on laptop were pointing my server then I would be able to connect to the domain using ip address (instead of domain name). If I get this right first I need to make a link between my laptop and a server, so they are both on same internal network? How about setting a VPN connection? Would that work out for me? Or do you maybe have any other ideas. Once again thank you very much for your help, Adam.

Cannot Connect Computer To The Domain...
Hi, I just got myself a VPS server 2008 RC2. I have added a domain role to the server. Then I have a Windows XP laptop at home. I am trying to connect this laptop to the domain. At this point I am using Wifi connection, so I know, that I won't be able to log in to domain after computer restart. I can ping the server from my laptop. Also I have changed the DNS configuration, so the server's ip is first on my list. Also I have created an account in Domain controller for my laptop) But I can't add laptop to the servers domain. It is giving me error: "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." (error code 0x0000007B ERROR_INVALID_NAME) What am I missing? So.. I was thinking that reasons that this is not working could be... connection over wifi putting in the servers ip address instead of the name different IP addressed (server has a static ip address and laptop is behind router firewall in my home) I have been struggling with this for days now... Please help Thank you, Adam.
