Not a computer expert but willing to have a go. Can cope with basic computer problems but enjoy the reassurance that belonging to a forum such as this provides.
I have fiddled with computers since the 1980s starting with BBC (Acorn) model B, BBC master, Acorn Archimedes (ARM RISCOS) before moving on to Microsoft Windows 3x, 98/ME, XP and Windows 7. I have dabbled with Linux versions via live disc and have recently set up my Windows XP Pro desktop to dual boot with Puppy Linux 5.7.1 (Frugal installation). I also run a Windows & Home Premium desktop. I also have an ancient Casio FX-730P which is not much more than an electronic calculator with a bit of additional programming potential (in a Casio variation of Basic). I've done a little simple programming in BBC Basic, Casio Basic, Visual Basic and Delphi Object Pascal - that might sound impressive but I can assure this has been at very simple level, I'm no 70+ year old whizz-kid.
My wife thinks I spend too much time on the computer; she's probably right but it is fun although I am not a games (other than a bit of chess) or social media buff.
