I am running Windows Server 2008 Server Core I am thinking of upgrading to full installation 32 bit. Can I just upgrade or do I do a clean install? It is my thoughts that you can not just upgrade or modify the Server Core to Full installation that you have to do a complete clean install. And if I do a clean install all of the information in the Server Core will be lost correct. Thank you for all replies in advance. Codin

Hello forum! Have a question: three servers: 2K PDC, 2003 Exchange member server, new 2008 member server. Our 2K lost domain. Restoring domain from back up went wrong. Plan B: disconnect 2K server, use Cvsde to export OUs and users/computers, install on 2008 AD, import into it users, ous and computers, give that domain same name as 2k has, give it same IP address and name. Then make sure users can sign in. Question - will member Exchange server work with new domain controller as nothing happened? Will it see that domain controller is not what it was? Will users have their mailboxes avail, and send/receive? I need to go in this Saturday and do the trick. Ufff.…

The webpages hosted are developed in house using ASP.Net (VB scripts) and database used is Microsoft Access database. This is where the bizarre issues shows, there are some PCs connected on the Local LAN, are unable to view certain reports created where some are able to view everything without any issues. The users are all controlled by Active directory, and all users are configured to be Domain users. Can Anyone help?

As you may know Microsoft’s new search engine, Bing, had a great start. According to some news, it started to overtake Yahoo. Bing also grabbed market share from Google. Is it possible? I don’t think so. People’s habit is hard to change and most of us is using Google as the default homepage. I think more creative ideas and some vision is needed to overtake Google. __________________

Windows 8 will be released in 2012 but news is already swirling about the operating system backing up to Microsoft's cloud storage service. According to Download Squad, a job posting, which has since been pulled, states that Microsoft is "working on a Windows Azure-based service and integrating with certain Microsoft online services and Windows 8 client backup. Many of the features we develop have ended up in the Windows Client and Windows Server OSes." The news does not specifically mention Windows Azure but it's clear any cloud-backup would be part of the Azure platform. Online storage for the every day user is a growing business. Microsoft is actually lau…
