Hello, I have a problem with Windows Server 2008 on the authorization application access to files on the hard disk. Indeed, I have applications that work perfectly in Windows 7 but not on Windows 2008 R2. This is mainly due to access files on disk. I wonder if there is not a parameter, a configuration change to give access to the disk drive applications. For example, it is not possible to use the "Browse" and pick a file for send it to a website with Internet Explorer. I've already try to add the autorisation for the DEP data... but seems to be another thing... Thank you for your help.

My Windows 2008 R2 wont take any updates. Even installing Service Pack 1 installing service pack 1, get stuck at configuring service pack 15%. I looked over the logs, even installed the "System Update Readiness Tool" and no go. I looked over the logs and looks like it keeps on waiting for "poqexec.exe to complete". Tried SFC /scannow and didnt find any errors. Next tried in place upgrade and still no go with any updates.

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I certainly appreciate that it exists and any help I recieve from any of you. We have recently (last 4 months ) upgraded to server 2008. This upgrade has been plagued with several problems that I will not get into right now. Our most current issue is with our Lacie-5big network drive. As of two weeks ago we are having intermittant access errors when using it. This drive has worked for the past year without issue and so this recent development is a problem for us. Lacie support does not provide support for server installation (thanks!). The error we get is that the IP address is already in use. We have noticed that t…

Hi, This may be an easy one but I'm having trouble setting this up and can't find a suitable guide in the the net. I have a Windows 2003 server as Domain Controller. Inside I have a TerminalServers group and members are a window2003 terminal server and a new windows2008 terminal server. I need a policy that grants my remote desktop users to install software/applications on windows2008 server, but they should not be able to Shutdown or Reboot the server. I tried going to local policy-> user rights on win2008 but can't seem to find such procedure to achieve this. Of course, another group exists, domain administrators which must retain full rights on the server. …
