Hi, I have around 70 printers installed on my 2008 print server. End users generally add what printers they want installed (windows 7), and we have third party software to monitor jobs, etc While some people find it easy to locate and install printers, others find it difficult. I have installed Internet Printing service hoping the end user could find their printer on the web page and then install it. By navigating to http://printsrv/printers/ all printers are easily available but I dont see an install option. Is this possible? Am I missing something? This used to be a cool feature in Novell's iPrint, and I'm hoping MS has something similar. Please advise TIA

  5. I'm still waiting for somebody who can explain me the advantages from a core installation. I just saw you can't manage everything (for example IIS), you have to use another server to open snap-in and log on remotely... THE HELL!!! What's the point? Really, I use Windows and I like it, but WHY develop a core install if you can't actually manage your server?!?!?! I'm really disappointed!

  11. This problem is happening on a Windows 7 professional client in a domain. The Windows 7 machine is set up to use a shared fax on a 2003 SBS machine. - When I open Windows Fax & Scan everything in the inbox can bee seen, down at the bottom is says "Refreshing" and 100 items, 200 items, 300 items, etc until it hits 1096 items, at that point the inbox goes blank. - Other XP clients can see the inbox, and the local inbox on the server itself works too. - I am able to view the outbox and sent items just fine from Windows 7. - I can also send faxes from the Windows 7 machine.

Hey Guys, I'm a sysadmin currently using default GPOs on the root domain, I created a GPO specifically for password complexity and such then applied it to a new OU I made, dumped the user/computer in there and sure enough its applied via gpresult and rsop.msc.. I see it in secpol.msc So why can I change my password to 1234?? lol. Minimum is 8 characters and complex What would cause this? I just noticed my XP machine shows it's applied (although not working as mentioned) but my win7 machine filters it out.. I have no WMI filter on it Thanks
