We setup a ftp server in Windows 2008 R2 using IIS. The Server is a domain controller. We like to use a domain user to make ftp connection but we prefer not hard code password. How can we archive it? Thx Angor

My 2008 standard edition server with servicepack two keeps changing language atumatically every time i open a new window, Any idea why. I have turned of the hotkeys for switching between languages, and I av EN US and norwegian bokml and nynorsk keybords installed on the server.

Hello, Problem : We have a Windows Server (our Live Intranet server) with Windows 2008 Server Standard SP2 ,64 bit OS.IIS 7.0 running on it. When we download a PDF file (75 MB) from our Intranet Server it takes almost 2 minutes to download which is too long.When we download the files it is simply an http request(we open IE, go to //intranet, click on the file which is an http link and it gives an option of saving the file)We have tried resetting the IIS in order to rule out any server cache related problem.Also, we have checked the bandwidth allowed on the IIS and it is set to maximum as well as the concurrent connections allowed are set to maximum. I am trying to configure the firewall scope for file and print sharing on a windows 2008 server. When I look at the firewall inbound rules, I filtered them to only show those associated with file and print sharing. Since I enabled file and print sharing via server manager I see that the firewall rules need are already configured for me. Now I just need to limit the scope. When I filtered the inbound rules for fire and print sharing, I noticed that 9 rules had automatically been turned on. I will list them below. I am configuring a firewall in windows server 2008. I need to add multiple subnets to an inbound rule but it is making me add the subnets one at a time. Is there any way to add multiple subnets at the same time? I tried separating them with commas and adding them via the GUI but it would not take it (it said specify a valid address). Also if you have already input a long list on subnets in one firewall rule is it possible to copy it over to another firewall rule?

Hi guys, forgive me if this is a novice question, but I have TS Web access installed, a few apps listed etc, can see it from any pc just fine if I add it to the TS Web Access Computers group, but can I allow users to login from any computer via web access and get the apps? Thanks in advance

I looking for an help with strange problem.. My company just moved from a Windows 2003 server to Windows 2008 R2 server last week and this new server is also our DNS, DHCP. Our company domain name is alii.ca and our web page domain is also call alii.ca. We added a www Host (A) record with the ip address in the DNS server under Forward Lookup Zones under alii.ca folder for the company web page witch is on a hosted by an outside company. But the problem we are having is every time any user on the local network goes to the company web page. It downloads and displays no graphics and only type and all pages formatting are gone. I have recently installed 2008 to use as a learning exercise. I have 2 joystick devices showing in my device window. When I right click to run the calibration program nothing happens. Hello again, I'm trying to deploy a printer but only have certian computers be able to print to it, I already have it deployed so that all users "Student" can print to this printer, that is fine. But what i want to do is also make it so that certian rooms can only print to it. This is as far as I have gotten setup wise, I have a group that I created for the computers in my lab that I want to be able to print, its called "Lab computers" all the computers in my lab belong to that group. hello all. i am trying to create a small office network based on windows server 2008r2. i have bought myself a dell server which comes with foundation for 15 users... what i want to do is the following: create a pdc with simple shares with internet access (probably will use tmg) with speed limits on internet access for users. another thing i want to do which i believe is impossible without 3rd party software is when a user joins the domain i want them to keep their local desktop. most people will freak out when they see a new blank desktop provided by the server. what i have done so far is create a pdc and its working alright. still ironing out some issues.…

so, ive noticed after running my FTP server which i still cant get working properly as i cant login, dont know why but ites really annoying....i keep geting FTP attacks which appears to be a dictionary attack as numerous passwords are tried. ok hi, im using microsoft network monitor to monitor packets and active connections etc, but ive got a feeling its missing alot of traffic. I need it to monitor all incomming and outgoing traffic through the router. Below is an image of my current setup. [ATTACH]169.IPB[/ATTACH] Say a connection to 192.168.0.15 on the red line came in, the server would not monitor the traffic to it. So i was thinking, maybe i need to intercept the traffic alltogeather as there is not an option in microsoft network monitor to listen on a specific host (192.168.0.1) so something like this... Hello, I want to apologize up front for my newness and ignorance in this. I have been tasked to set-up a server running Windows Server 2008 R2 (Enterprise). We also have access to SBS 2011, would that be better? It is a very simple server, its only roles are to be a file server and an active directory domain controller. I have never setup a Windows Server before and so even though these tasks should be simple I am really struggling. There are only seven employees... Hi everybody. I have been pulling my hair out for the last couple of days. I'm a new Windows Server 2008 user and was wondering if there is a way to install an application as a service. I host an internet radio station from my server and am using two applications called shoutcast and winamp. The problem is that whenevr I disconnect from the server, the two programs stop running. They don't turn off but they just stop running so my stream basically goes down. I asked the people in the winamp and shoutcast forums but they can't seem to help me. I'm having an issue where whenever the machine attempts to output sound, it just outputs this screaming, fuzzy noise. Before I re-imaged the machine, sound worked perfectly. Now sound from the machine is completely unintelligible. I've turned on both windows audio services and set them to automatic, that didn't help, and I've changed the drivers, but maybe to the wrong ones. Could anyone shed some light on this? Hello, I have a couple questions about how mirrored volumes are handled by disk manager. 1: When a member of a mirror set is being resynchronized and the computer is rebooted, the re-sync process restarts at zero percent. Is this the intended behavior or do I have drive or controller issue? Re-syncing 2TB drives without being able to restart the server is very frustrating and causes excessive wear to the drives. 2: Is there a way to actively monitor the progress of a mirror re-sync? I realize leaving Disk Manger open will eventually update the status of the rebuild with a percentage. However, this can take hours for a value to be displayed. I would like a way to act…

Hello I have widnows server 2008 but a fews days all the word and excel files could not be opened,when i want to to open them i get this error message "word cannot start the converter mswrd632.wpc" . after searching in internet i just found this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973904, this article is about 2 years old and it is not for windows server 2003anyway i have dont what is said in that article but nothing has been changed.i have checked the server with Mcafee and no virus is found.can anybpdy help me what could be the problem? I can join my domain now on my other machine but another problem came out, It says an error "You cannot log on with this method please contact your local administrator" I can log on with domain Administrator account but not a standard user account, How do I fix this.
