I was trying to print from my laptop and it won't let me. Network problems I think. The message says that the generic pnp driver may be corrupt. I have tried to fix this by trying to find a download or to remove and reinstall. No such luck. It isn't a huge issue, but would like it resolved. There are no free sites to scan computer and suggest fixes...I am not going to pay for this. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Continue reading...

I just bought a brand new laptop (HP Envy 15) just now. After I logged in to my account, I switched to my sister's account. But then the screen turned purplish blue with "please wait" written in the middle. I tried pressing a lot of buttons but nothing happened. I have been waiting for 2 hours now. Continue reading...

I have a boxed version of Kaspersky internet security 2014. I don't have a CD-drive. So, I copied the whole content in the CD with my laptop and tried to install it on my computer. It starts well and goes on well. but in the middle of installation, it says "Current operating system is not supported". My operating system is Windows 8.1 pro. It also stated in that box that it is "ready for windows 8". don't know what to do... need help fast!! I bought that product before 6 months(approx.)

So I cannot save any new files. - all my old files are still on pc. but I have to open the user files to access them. - if I sign in as administrator, I seam to be able too save new files. but old desktop still won't load. 2. My wireless adapter keeps shutting off by itself. I have to manually reset it. like every 5 minutes. - this is a MAJOR problem. 16. I have tried installing XP on three different drive on my Acer 7750G-9411 laptop, preloaded with Win 7. My newest drive is a 1.5 TB HGST. My other drives are a 750GB Toshiba and a 1TB western Digital. On every drive XP fails with the standard 0xoooooo7B error, warning that there may be a virus and do an FDisk/f. Of course, that's not possible unless DOS is on that machine...and it obviously ain't. CHKDSK does indicate minor issues but nothing that would cause an install failure. I virus checked my drives with the newest updated Bit Defender, no virus found. I want to dual-boot adding XP on my machine in order to play old XP and DOS games. On each drive I have succ…

  20. Hello to all, I have a particular problem, I hope to be a right forum area, I have lost the CD supports of my Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition with SP2 - VL - (Italian). I have a regular license (of course provable) of this product but Microsoft does not want to give me the possibility to download the two iso because this release is too obsolete even if in the ThecNet area this is still available. Unfortunately I can't permit to buy the ThechNet Subscription, if I could I would bought the 2012 Server standard edition. Can someone Help me, even paying, to download these 2 ISO files for me ? Hi, I'm new here and a very novice server admin. (Calling myself an admin is a loose use of the word!) I have a W2K8 server acting as a file server and AD controller. It began locking up on me and I thought it was heat related on the CPU so I pulled the case open and put a large fan blowing directly into the case. That seemed to stop the lockups but the server seemed really slow. A few days later the server began locking up again. If I reboot the server (I have to power fail it once it is locked up) it will run for a little while (maybe 30 min) before locking up. However, I just figured out that even though it appears locked up, the TCP/IP stack is still wo…

Thank you in advance for your responses... I am a Cisco networking guy. I know little about 2003 server, but... My task is to return health to a 2003 Server (probably 32 bit) that is running VERY slowly. I only had a little time to inspect it so far. It contains 3G of ram, and a SCSI hard drive, and is basically a dinosaur. The server runs some basic features-- at least including file sharing, printer sharing, DHCP, Directory services. Applications include at least MYSQL, Quickbooks, Goldmine. I noticed MYSQL is far and away the leading ram user at 1.2 G. I preformed disk-cleanup, then before I left I put in motion disk-defragmenter to the badly fragmented drive. Tho…

The default username for IIS anonymous access appears to be IUSR with no password, when i pass ftp://anonymous@ftp.domain.com i get prompted for a username and password. Hi, Our file servers are running Server 2008 R2 and I have an issue with two clients currently. They can access two of our file servers, but the third denies them with the following: \\server3 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource... Domain users have read-only NTFS prmission to the shared directory however, when they enter \\server3 into the address bar in Windows Explorer, they get the above message. Any thoughts? Thanks ahead. Hello, We have a Windows Server 2008 R2 set up. I have an entire drive set up as a shared drive for users on the network. It houses an application and an associated database (ODBC) in one folder. If one or more users are using the database and another application accesses these data files, the performance suffers, even though it is only 2 or 3 users. Is there any way to optimize the way the files are shared on the server so that throughput and access speed will be maximized? We have some users that are WinXP Home clients, and some are Windows 7 clients. It doesn't matter which windows version as both exhibit the slowing of accessing the files.
