So i have a new laptop and it came with Vista Home Basic. No Word, No Excel, however i do have windows mail and im not able to backup my info from my treo 700wx. I was told that windows mail would do this but i havent been able to do that. Cam someone help me? Thank You

Bei der manuellen Suche wird unter SP4 ein roter Punkt gezeigt. Beim Anklicken wird nur ein Fenster mit Überschrift ohne Inhalt angezeigt. Es wird empfohlen neu zu installieren, was ich durchführte. Danach kommen wieder die gleichen Fehlermeldungen.

We have purchased a Lenovo laptop with built in OS of "Windows Vista Home Basic". Now, we want to disable the CD burning facility. There is no gpedit or secpol in "Windows Vista Home Basic" therefore, suggest me how to disable the inbuilt CD/DVD burning facility. IMAPI is no longer working as a service also (therefore I could not disable it in Services). I have already uninstalled all the third party CD burning softwares. -- SS

I started up my computer and upon loading windows a message popped up saying "windows explorer has stopped working." It then shows a black screen and nothing is working properly. If UPS WorldShip is installed as a "LAN Administrative Workstation" on XP Pro and has "Remote Workstations" enabled, then other XP workstations installed as "LAN Remote Workstations" can access the LAN Admin station's UPS database. What I want to do is have the 2000 TS be one of the LAN Remote stations. Hi, we are setting up a new office. with around 20 clients and one server. We chose windows server 2003 standard edition R2 on a dell 3ghz/ 4gb. Planning to use it as a file-server for CAD files and an application (ufida). What is the suggested setup when the objective is to not allow local saving of files, but rather keep the files on the server and have the clients access them over the Lan? Best Practices? I am currently running XP home edition sp2 but when I download certain programs like IE 8, ITunes, etc...the software program terminates installation and tells me that the program is not compatible with my OS. Some of these programs report that I am using Windows 2000, which I am not. When I check my OS version on my computer it says I am using XP which was installed when I bought the computer.
