Please help me I know "nothing" about pc's I have A nVidia G force 3 Ti 200 vid card on win xp os I know its outdated but you know gotta work with what ya got :cool: anyways I havent updated my vid drivers for prob 2 years and I have no idea what to look for or even how to look for it if anyone could tell me if there is a driver update and maybe where to get it I would very much appreciate it. thank you

I re-installed WinXP on D:, with multi-boot enabled to allow the OS to reside on D:, and the boot files (Boot.ini. NTLDR, etc.) on C:(along with the original install of XP). (This is my wife's computer (Dell), and since I face certain death if I screwed up I elected to create another instance of XP and migrate stuff to it. She had insisted that it was going "slow" and needed a "reformat"). I've used multiboot before and it works fine. Today I installed a new HD. I have a 40gig hard drive, when I go into the Properties, I see Used space 31.6 GB Free space 2.11 GB 1] Where's the the missing 5-6 GB's? 2] What can I do to retrieve the missing space or what can I do to gain more space on this drive? Thanks.

I've heard that MS will require Windows to be registered to get updates sometime this summer. Anyway, I am trying to find the cheapest way to legally own the Windows I have on my pc's. I see a huge difference in price for the OEM versions versus the Retail. For example; is the Dell OEM version I buy on Ebay legal to put on my pc that I built? I'm not looking for MS support, I know OEM means it stays with that pc. I have a working copy of XP w/SP2 so I really don't even need the cd. I know how to change the cd key so I wouldn't have to re-install. I just need evidence that I own it and I can register and get updates later this year. Could anyone please advise me on the bes…

Hello. I have a Dell PC that is about 8 months old. I am trying to use Microsoft Movie Maker to capture video from my Panasonic PV-GS120 video camera. I installed the USB driver that came with the camera software and have the camera connected to the computer with the USB cable that was provided with the camera. When I select "Capture from Video Device" in Movie Maker, I get an error telling me that "A Video capture device was not detected". Any help/suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I finally broke down and upgraded my Dell to SP2. Since then, I can no longer connect to my Linksys router. I can connect directly to my DSL modem, but all I get for a status for the router is 'Acquiring network address'. I have talked with Linksys and they are baffled. I've been going back and forth with Microsoft with no luck. Here are some of the things I have tried: 1. Disable SP2 firewall and Norton firewall 2. Reset router 3. I have recently been receiving error messages when I attempt to boot into one of the windows OS on my computer. I have dual boot, not by choice but by chance. When I first set up windows on my computer after a crash it kept on rebooting and having me to re-install the program. Each time it would request a log on in order to verify the OS by Internet. At any rate I ended up with three copies of WinXP on one computer. I have never had a problem until recently when the system was updated automatically through windows update program with SP2 for the second time. Everytime I come to the WindowsXP welcome screen to log in, when I type in my password, it appears as squares instead of the normal black dots. Is there any way to fix this? I does not happen if I use the other type of log-in, though. Any help would be greatly aprreciated.

After installing Windows Server 2003 SP1, the "COM+ Event System" and "Network Connections" services are hanging on startup. When I click the service dependencies, an error message saying "Win32: Access is denied." pops up. I login using the administrator account. Does anyone have a clue?

Hi again guys, I've just compiled MySQL on my linux box, and have been trying to start it. However, when I do try and start it, all that happens is: There is no error code, so I'm not sure what's stopping it from starting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have just picked up a desktop computer that I left at my mother-in-laws house, my nephew has used this comp for sometime, anyway I got it back to my house and I have DSL and when I log online I recve a error message that says C:\EXPLORE.EXE can not be found or is missing, I do not have the ME windows cd to reinstall. Hi all, I have a CD drive that's causing me a bit of a headache- it only reads some sectors from a disk. I was installing mandrakelinux onto a machine I bought off ebay, only to realise that some packages couldn't be read. Thinking it was a problem with the CD-ROM, i burnt the OS again, but to no avail. I then tried FC3, and the cd I inserted failed the disk check that occurs before installation. I know that the IDE slots on the motherboard works- i've tried it with other drives before. So, my immediate guess is that there is something wrong with the cd drive itself. Would my assumption be correct? Thanks!
