Hello All, I was cleaning up my computer today and came across a few files which I need cleaned up. 1. C:\Program~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~2.DLL - I tried locating this file to delete it but it was not found on my computer. 2. C:\Windows\Living 3D Dolphins.scr - I also tried deleting this one but was not able to. The .DLL comes up everytime the computer is booted up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tks, Scott

I have added a machine running W2K to my peer to peer network of WIN98 machines. I can access all the WIN98 machines from the new but not the W2K machine from any of the WIN98 machines. I can see it under Network Nieghbourhood but when I click on it I get a message box saying that it is logging onto '\\machinename\IPC$' and requires a password, which isn't set as far as I am aware. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, please ?

Internet explorer will not open web sites, Windows 98 SE, Internet explorer 6. Netscape allows me to connect to websites and and outlook express works for email. Have tried reloading explorer with no sucess, anybody else had problems like this?

Hi all. Recently my cd/dvd burner stoped reading cds. Its old so I figured it was dead. I bought a Pioneer 109 brand new and installed it. The computer picked it up but it still wouldnt read cds, it just claims there is nothing in the drive. I have tried and tested the followig: Ribbon cable Powersupply IDE port Slave master issue Drivers T ried it in safe mode Tested other apps but they dont see a disk either Various discs Chip set Various virus scans Update to Windows Deleted Nero I am at my wits ends and have no idea what it could be. my computer takes about 4 minutes to fully boot up. it gets to the windows screen and sits there for about 3 minutes before continuing. it was taking 1 minute to startup before. also i was wondering if there is some kind of program to analyze computer for conflicts or whatever might be wrong. thanks

I am usinbg windows 98 SE I installed a program and when I try to run the file it says file linked to missing export user32.dll Layer Windows Attributes -- Can some one please tell me how to overcome this problem...Thanks

hello everyone, there is not much advice i can give at this time, but i was hoping to get some help at getting my printer installed without having to use the win98disk which i've lost. :)

I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem, from the desktop if I click on "run" and type in a web address and press "enter", I get a window that says "application not found". Has anyone ever had this problem or know how to fix it? any help will be appreciated.

I hope this is the right forum, I'm new here. I had installed a Hard Lock Server (wrong thing to do!) and then uninstalled it. Now I can't get the registry key for this deleted - I've attached a screen shot of the key. Hopefully someone can help!! TIA, Beti ;)

I have problems with my display starting up properly. Normally, when I start up my computer and my display, my display goes straight to the energy save mode. (It doesn't even blink the green light.) I have discovered a way to make my display start up - I push reset button a few seconds after I have started up my computer and my display. This makes my display light up a greed light instead of yellow and it starts up normally. I have had this problem a long time now. I think it started when I bought a new mother board. (Shuttle AK32V v.3.1). Where can this problem be? My display, my graphic card (Radeon 9100) or my motherboard? Or drivers? Please help!

At a loss, re-installed game, updated windows, updated driver, adjusted settings, game still looks and runs like garbage. Can anyone help.

Hello, I recently reinstalled Tomb Raider III on my PC and played for about 4hrs. I have done this before without incident. After exiting the game I observed that my display had several dark horizontal lines. I have subsequently noticed that where ever there is black text that in that same line there is a dark horizontal band going across the entire screen, almost as if there is a smudge however the margins of theses bands are well defined. Whenever Win XP is loading and reaches the welcome screen then the same occurs with the white welcome text against the blue background. my pc crashed..so i reinstalled windows..i messed up installing windows xp twice but finally got it right the 3rd time..how do i delete the other 2 unesary operating systems...i know u go to system startup recovery, edit, system startup but i dont know how to remove the other 2 entries

Re: help needed Hi, looking for help on a run.dll error. I loaded XP and it screwed up my system. When I removed it the following RUN.DLL Window error message appears on startup. "Error Loading NVQTWK.DLL The system cannot find the file specified." How do I fix it? Jerry

Hi all I hope someone can help me out here. I have windows xp pro. After switching on the computer everything starts up okay but after a minute or so the following error message appears: Windows Explorer has encoutered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. With the following Error Signature: AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1221 ModName: Unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00000000 After closing the error message the Task Bar and shortcuts vanish for a few seconds but when it comes back, the same message pops up again. I have run avarst (sp) and other spyware and trojan removers, to no avail. Can anyone please help me?
